Your detailed itinerary

Day 1 - Lisbon

Arrival at Lisbon International Airport and collection of the hire car. Check in to the hotel and overnight stay.

Day 2 – Lisbon

Breakfast at the hotel.

Explore the Portuguese capital at your own pace with a 24-hour transport pass.

Don't miss the Belém district and its historic atmosphere, as well as Baixa, the lively heart of Lisbon.

For a unique experience, enjoy a one-hour tuk-tuk ride with an English-speaking driver-guide through the iconic districts of Chiado, Bairro Alto and Alfama.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 – Lisbon – Estoril – Cascais – Cape Roca – Sintra – Fátima Region

Breakfast at the hotel.

Follow the coastal road alongside the Tagus and the Atlantic Ocean to the charming seaside resorts of Estoril and Cascais. Then continue on to Cabo da Roca, the most westerly point of continental Europe, before reaching the fairytale town of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Continue to the Fátima region and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 – Central Portugal's great heritage sites

Breakfast at the hotel.

A day devoted to discovering the region's cultural highlights: the Cistercian Abbey of Alcobaça, the fishing village of Nazaré, the Monastery of Batalha, the Sanctuary of Fátima, and finally the Convent of Christ in Tomar.

Return and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 – Fátima – Coimbra – Aveiro – Mesquitela – Trancoso – Sernancelhe

Breakfast at the hotel.

Drive to Coimbra, a famous university town. Then stop in Aveiro, nicknamed the 'Venice of Portugal' thanks to its colourful canals and boats.

Typical lunch included in a local restaurant.

Continue on to the mountainous region of Beira Alta: taste the cheeses of Celorico da Beira, discover the ramparts of Trancoso, then settle into an authentic setting at Sernancelhe.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 – Sernancelhe – Upper Douro Valley – Porto Region

Breakfast at the hotel.

Head to the magnificent Douro Valley, which is dotted with terraced vineyards and has been designated a World Heritage Site. Explore the sanctuary of Lamego and the vineyards of Peso da Régua, not to mention the famous Mateus mansion and its elegant formal gardens.

Arrival in the Porto region and overnight at the hotel.

Day 7 – Porto – Aveiro – Obidos – Lisbon Region

Breakfast at the hotel.

Devote the morning to discovering Porto and its historic centre. Included is a one-hour mini-cruise on the Douro, from which you can admire the city.

Continuation to Aveiro and its canals, followed by a stop at Óbidos, a superb fortified medieval town.

Return to the Lisbon region and overnight at the hotel.

Day 8 – Lisbon – Departure

Breakfast at the hotel.

Return the vehicle and fly to your destination.

Practical details

If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.
Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
For safety reasons, the wellbeing facilities of most establishments are not accessible to children under 16 years old. Similarly, it is possible that some amenities or services require an additional charge or are unavailable for exceptional reasons.

Once your reservation has been made, you will receive a confirmation e-mail before your travel documents are sent.
Regarding the transport documents (in the case of a reservation with transport included), we will provide you with all the information relating to check-in and luggage in the "Your travel documents" email, allowing you to leave with peace of mind.
To take advantage of all your reserved services (hotels, transfers, activities, etc.), you will receive one or more exchange vouchers to be presented to each supplier.

Transportation

In order to best organise your time in the airport, we advise that you arrive 2 hours before boarding for a medium-haul flight, or 3 hours before boarding for a long-haul flight (more than 5 hours). Take advantage of your early arrival to pass through security and check your luggage.
You will be informed whether or not luggage is included at the time of your booking.
You will have the opportunity to add additional luggage for a fee.
There are several different cities that are typically offered as departure points. Your arrival destination will show in your travel documents.
Depending on the flight schedule, some arrivals or returns may be made at night with early arrival or late departure. You will not always be able to have your room available immediately and will need to refer to the check-in and check-out conditions of the hotel.
In the event that your transfer is not included in your hotel reservation, it may be offered at the time of your reservation as an additional option. Unless specifically mentioned, transfers may be made in groups of 15 to 55 people.
