Day 1 | San José

Welcome to Costa Rica, the land of Pura Vida!

Once you have collected your luggage after your long flight, you will find a driver holding a sign with your name on it at the airport exit, ready to take you to the hotel.

You have all your electronic travel documents in hand. Relax and unwind, your adventure in Costa Rica begins now!

Day 2 | San José - Tortuguero

Early departure to discover the Tortuguero jungle! The shuttle bus from the lodge where you will be staying will pick you up at your hotel.

You will cross the impressive Braulio Carrillo National Park, a vast primary forest with impressive canyons and rivers, hundreds of varieties of plants, numerous species of birds and ancient trees.

Then you'll head back down to the Caribbean plain before a breakfast break in the lodge restaurant. The adventure continues on tracks through the banana plantations, Costa Rica's main crop. Once at the river, you'll leave the shuttle for a two-hour boat ride back to the lodges.

All meals will be provided on site. During your stay in Tortuguero, you'll have the chance to explore the village on foot and the national park by boat.

Immerse yourself in the heart of nature, where the jungle meets the comfort of the lodge, for a comfortable and unique experience.

Day 3 | Tortuguero

Discover Tortuguero National Park by boat.

Your guide will talk to you in English or Spanish about the richness and biodiversity of the region. In the heart of this splendid tropical setting, the show is everywhere! Thanks to the incredibly sharp eyes of the captains and guides, explorers will be able to discover the abundance of life barely concealed in the jungle.

On the riverbanks, it's not uncommon to see caimans waiting patiently to take centre stage, while spider monkeys play in the branches laden with fruit. The most active creatures are the birds, fishing in the canal. The tranquillity of the scene is genuine, and the large number of sloths that live here are well accustomed to it.

Back at the lodge, let yourself be lulled by the sounds of the Tortuguero jungle and enjoy your last night here.

Day 4 | Arenal

After breakfast, leave the lodge for a final crossing of the Tortuguero canals.

Once ashore, the lodge shuttle will take you to the restaurant where you will have a last lunch. There, the hire car will be delivered to you and you will continue your journey towards the Arenal volcano region.

Towering over the entire region, the Arenal volcano is situated to the north of the central valley and is surrounded by a verdant landscape of tropical forest and pastures. Its almost perfect conical silhouette makes it one of the most spectacular sites in the country.

Day 5 | Arenal

During the day, you'll have time to appreciate the facilities at your hotel, the lush tropical vegetation surrounding the volcano, the warm waters escaping from it, the magnificent lake at its foot and the traces of its recent major activity.

Day 6 | Monteverde

After breakfast, you will leave the Arenal region along its majestic lake before reaching the Monteverde cloud forest.

To better understand this magical place and discover its flora and fauna, there are different ways you can explore it, both day and night. You can walk along the paths of this high-altitude rainforest or cross the footbridges suspended from the treetops. You can also move from platform to platform in the canopy, clinging to a cable above the carpet of ferns and moss.

The Monteverde, Santa Elena and Curi Cancha reserves and the Children's Eternal Forest are just some of the options for discovering the cloudy forest in the footsteps of the Quetzal. The village of Monteverde, which was founded by Quakers, also offers an insight into rural life in Costa Rica. You can visit a butterfly farm, an orchid farm, a serpentarium and a woodworking shop.

The villages and beaches of Guanacaste offer the chance to experience life on the edge of the Pacific, with activities and restaurants to suit all tastes. You can enjoy the beaches, swim in the warm waters, or try more active water sports such as surfing, kayaking, and paddleboarding.

If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.
Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
For safety reasons, the wellbeing facilities of most establishments are not accessible to children under 16 years old. Similarly, it is possible that some amenities or services require an additional charge or are unavailable for exceptional reasons.

Once your reservation has been made, you will receive a confirmation e-mail before your travel documents are sent.
Regarding the transport documents (in the case of a reservation with transport included), we will provide you with all the information relating to check-in and luggage in the "Your travel documents" email, allowing you to leave with peace of mind.
To take advantage of all your reserved services (hotels, transfers, activities, etc.), you will receive one or more exchange vouchers to be presented to each supplier.
The contact details of the establishment will be specified in these documents, to help make your arrival at your destination as straight-forward as possible.

Transportation

Choose an offer and, according to your preferences, opt for a seat in economy, business or first class.

In order to best organise your time in the airport, we advise that you arrive 2 hours before boarding for a medium-haul flight, or 3 hours before boarding for a long-haul flight (more than 5 hours). Take advantage of your early arrival to pass through security and check your luggage.
You will be informed whether or not luggage is included at the time of your booking.
You will have the opportunity to add additional luggage for a fee.
There are several different cities that are typically offered as departure points. Your arrival destination will show in your travel documents.
Depending on the flight schedule, some arrivals or returns may be made at night with early arrival or late departure. You will not always be able to have your room available immediately and will need to refer to the check-in and check-out conditions of the hotel.
In the event that your transfer is not included in your hotel reservation, it may be offered at the time of your reservation as an additional option. Unless specifically mentioned, transfers may be made in groups of 15 to 55 people.
