Venice entry tax
In 2024, the introduction of a tax of 5 euros per person will be effective, for people not staying in Venice, on the following dates:
Every day from April 25 to May 5
May weekends: May 11 & 12, May 18 & 19 and May 25 & 26
Weekends in June: 8 & 9, 15 & 16, 22 & 23 and 29 & 30
The first two weekends of July (6 & 7 and 13 & 14).
Tourists entering the Old Town between 8.30am and 4pm must pay the tax. They will need to book their visit and present a QR code on arrival.
Tourists staying overnight in Venice, as well as residents of the city and the Veneto region, students and under-14s will be exempt (although they will need to make a free reservation to obtain an exemption QR code).
Offenders are liable to fines ranging from 50 to 300 euros.
