Departure from the hotel for a visit to the old quarter, the "Casco Viejo", time for a walk through history: from Spanish colonisation and the golden age of piracy, to the more modern era of great advances in engineering with the construction of the Panama Canal by France and then the United States, which left their mark on the architecture of the quarter and the culture of the country.

30 km from Casco Antiguo lies the town of Gamboa, where our private boat will be waiting for us at the port to navigate the waters of Lake Gatun, while our guide shares his knowledge of the nature surrounding the lake and interesting historical aspects of the Panama Canal. During the trip, you'll get an up-close look at the huge ships crossing the canal and the banks where crocodiles are known to rest. You'll visit various islands to meet white-faced capuchin monkeys, Geoffroy's tamarins and howler monkeys. You will also have the opportunity to admire other animal species such as toucans, sloths, iguanas and numerous birds. Over the past two years, Monkey Island on the lake has become a very famous tourist attraction, which is why, unlike other agencies, the excursion we offer maintains different schedules according to the season and a more extensive tour that will take you to unexplored corners of the lake with lush vegetation. It's worth mentioning that the assigned guide is local, active and has the ability to locate and recognise species that are easily confused in the lake. After lunch in a local restaurant, your guide will take you to the Miraflores Locks Visitor Centre to watch the large ships pass by, this time from a different perspective.

Recommandations: Bring warm clothing, as the air conditioning in the Miraflores Visitor Centre is a little chilly.

An hour from the city, departing from the port of Corotú, located on Lake Alajuela, you'll climb aboard a "piragua", a traditional handmade canoe, which will take you through the abundant nature of the Chagres River. You'll sail to the foothills of the indigenous community to discover exclusive beaches where you'll have free time to enjoy a swim and cold drinks. At lunchtime, you'll enjoy a traditional meal prepared on site, to which we'll add avocados, coffee and seasonal fruit. On the way back, you'll head for the entrance to a trail that ends at a picturesque waterfall (the walk lasts around 15-25 minutes, and varies according to the season, which influences the water level and changes the path). The indigenous community we visit, being one of the furthest from the city, offers the chance to enjoy wild beaches, far from the crowds. For greater safety, we rely on native companions, with whom we've had a very good relationship for years and who know the park terrain, the climate and our dynamics perfectly when walking or going to the river.

Today's programme includes a visit to Finca Lérida, founded in 1922, where we discover its history, coffee production system and plantations. The tour ends at the Tasting Table, where the long, intense and complex coffee-making process finally bears its fruits. It's also where we discover whether or not an entire year's work has produced a top-quality coffee. We discover the different varieties of coffee and learn to distinguish the different flavour tones.

Transfer from Boquete to Bocas del Toro (to Almirante, to be precise).

Duration: Approx. 3h30.

In Almirante, at the pier, you'll take a boat to Isla Colon (not included). Boats leave every day from 6am to 6pm every half-hour and cost USD 6 per person. Upon arrival, a taxi will be waiting to take you to your hotel.
