CASCO VIEJO VISIT

Departure from the hotel to visit the old part of the city, "Casco Viejo", for a walk through history: from the Spanish colonisation and the golden age of piracy to the more modern era of great advances in engineering with the construction of the Panama Canal by France and then the United States, which left their mark on the architecture of the city and the culture of the country.

GATUN LAKE AND MIRAFLORES LOCKS DAY TRIP

30 km from Casco Antiguo lies the town of Gamboa, where our private boat will be waiting for us at the port to navigate the waters of Lake Gatun, while our guide shares his knowledge of the nature surrounding the lake and interesting historical aspects of the Panama Canal. During the trip, you'll get a close-up view of the huge ships that cross the canal and the banks where the crocodiles used to rest. You'll visit various islands to meet white-faced capuchin monkeys, Geoffroy's tamarins and howler monkeys. You'll also have the chance to admire other animal species such as toucans, sloths, iguanas and numerous birds. In the last two years, the "monkey island of the lake" has become a very famous tourist attraction, which is why, unlike other agencies, the expedition we propose maintains different schedules according to the season and a more extensive circuit that plunges into unexplored corners of the lake where there is lush vegetation. It's worth mentioning that the assigned guide is local, active and has the ability to locate and recognize species that are easily confused in the lake. After lunch at a local restaurant, your guide will take you to the Miraflores Lock Visitor Center to watch the big boats pass through, this time from a different perspective. We recommend you bring warm clothing, as the air-conditioned Miraflores visitor center is a little cold.

**EMBERA PURU TOWER

One hour from the city, departing from the port of Corotú, located on the lake Alajuela, you'll board a "piragua", a traditional handmade pirogue, which will take you through the abundant nature of the river Chagres. You'll sail to the foothills of the indigenous community to discover exclusive beaches where you'll have free time to enjoy a swim and cold drinks. At lunchtime, you'll enjoy a traditional meal prepared on site, to which we'll add avocados, coffee and seasonal fruit. On the way back, you'll head for the entrance to a trail that ends at a picturesque waterfall (the walk lasts around 15-25 minutes, and varies according to the season, which influences the water level and changes the path). The indigenous community we visit, being one of the furthest from the city, offers the chance to enjoy wild beaches, without groups of people. For greater safety, we rely on our native companions, with whom we've had a very good relationship for years and who know the park terrain, the climate and our dynamics perfectly when walking or going to the river.

Recommendations: wear comfortable walking clothes and shoes that can get wet, a swimsuit, sun cream, sunglasses, a hat, a change of clothes, a camera and fresh clothes.

FINCA LERIDA COFFEE TOUR

Today's program includes a visit to Finca Lérida, founded in 1922, to discover its history, coffee production system and plantations. The tour ends at the Tasting Table, where the long, intense and complex coffee-making process comes to an end. It's also where we discover whether or not an entire year's work has produced a top-quality coffee. We discover the different varieties of coffee and learn to distinguish the different tones of taste.

Transport from Boquete to Bocas del Toro (Zone Almirante).

At Almirante, take a boat to Isla Colon (not included). Boats leave every day from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. every half-hour and cost 6 usd per person. On arrival, a cab will be waiting to take you to your hotel.
