30 km from Casco Antiguo is the town of Gamboa, where our private boat will be waiting at the port to take us on a cruise on Lake Gatun, while our guide shares their knowledge of the natural surroundings of the lake and interesting historical aspects of the Panama Canal. On the way, you'll get a close-up view of the huge ships that pass through the canal and the banks where you may glimpse a crocodile or two. You'll visit different islands to meet white-faced capuchin monkeys, Geoffroy's tamarins and howler monkeys. You'll also have the chance to admire other animal species such as toucans, sloths, iguanas and numerous birds. Over the last two years, the "monkey island of the lake" has become a very famous tourist attraction, which is why, unlike other agencies, the expedition we offer has different timetables depending on the season and a more extensive circuit that delves into unexplored corners of the lake where there is lush vegetation. It's worth mentioning that the assigned guide is local, active and has the skills to locate and recognise species in the lake that are easily confused. After lunch in a local restaurant, your guide will take you to the Miraflores lock reception centre to watch the big boats sail by, this time from a different vantage point. We recommend that you bring warm clothing, as the air-conditioned temperatures at the Miraflores visitor centre is a little low. Duration: 8 hours. Overnight stay at the hotel in a Superior Room.
Includes: Snacks, Transport, Excursion, Local guide, Entrance fee(s), Room with breakfast.
