Tour of Casco Viejo. Depart from the hotel for a tour of the old district, "Casco Viejo" taking a walk through history: from the Spanish colonisation and the golden age of piracy, to the more modern era of engineering advancements with the construction of the Panama Canal by France and later the United States, which left their marks on the district's architecture and the country's culture. Duration: 4 hours.

30 km from Casco Antiguo lies the town of Gamboa, where our private boat will be waiting for us at the port to navigate the waters of Lake Gatun, while our guide shares his knowledge of the nature surrounding the lake and interesting historical aspects of the Panama Canal. On the way, you'll get an up-close look at the gigantic ships that pass through the canal and the banks where crocodiles usually rest. You'll visit different islands to meet white-faced capuchin monkeys, Geoffroy's tamarins and howler monkeys. You'll also have the opportunity to admire other animal species such as toucans, sloths, iguanas and numerous birds. Over the past two years, the 'Monkey Island of the Lake' has become a very famous tourist attraction. This is why our proposed expedition has different schedules according to the season, as well as a more extensive route that takes you to the lake's unexplored corners with lush vegetation. It's worth mentioning that the assigned guide is local and knowledgeable, and can identify species that are easily confused in the lake. After lunch at a local restaurant, your guide will take you to the Miraflores Locks Visitor Centre, where you can witness the passage of the big boats from a different point of view. Please bring warm clothes, as the Miraflores visitor centre is air-conditioned and rather cold. Duration: 8 hours.

One hour from the city, from the port of Corotú, located on Lake Alajuela, you will board a "piragua", a traditional handmade pirogue, which will take you through the lush nature of the Chagres River. You'll sail to the foothills of an indigenous community to discover secluded beaches where you can enjoy a swim and some cold drinks. At lunchtime, you'll savour a traditional meal prepared on site, complete with avocados, coffee and seasonal fruit. On the way back, you will head for the entrance to a trail that leads to a picturesque waterfall (the walk takes around 15–25 minutes and the route varies according to the season, which affects the water level and changes the path). The indigenous community we will visit is one of the most remote from the city and offers the chance to enjoy wild beaches without crowds. For greater safety, we rely on our native companions, who know the park terrain, the climate and our walking and river-going dynamics perfectly, and with whom we've had a very good relationship for years. Duration: 7 hrs.

Recommendation: wear comfortable walking clothes and shoes that can get wet, a swimsuit, sun cream, sunglasses, a hat, have a change of clothes, a camera and light clothing.

Today's programme includes a visit to Finca Lérida, founded in 1922, to discover its history, coffee production system and plantations. The tour concludes at the Tasting Table, where the lengthy and intricate coffee-making process culminates. This is also where we find out if a year's work has produced a top-quality coffee. We will explore the different varieties of coffee and learn to distinguish between their various flavours. Duration: 1h30 approx.

Transportation from Boquete to Bocas del Toro (Zone Almirante). Duration: approx. 3h30.

You will then take a ferry.
