DAY 1 | SAN JOSÉ

Welcome to Costa Rica! Our local representative will greet and assist you at SJO airport.

Shared transfer from Juan Santamaría International Airport to your hotel in San José.

Check in, make yourself comfortable in your hotel room and relax!

DAY 2 | SAN JOSÉ - TORTUGUERO

Early in the morning, meet at the hotel reception desk for the semi-collective transfer to the pier to reach Tortuguero. You'll pass through Braulio Carrillo National Park, a prime example of Costa Rica's lush cloud forest. On the way, you'll stop in the town of Guápiles to enjoy breakfast in a local restaurant, before embarking onwards to Tortuguero and sailing through the famous canals (and discovering their equally as famous plant and wild life) in the heart of the rainforest.

Check-in at the lodge, then enjoy a hearty lunch.

In the afternoon, you'll visit the village of Tortuguero on the other side of the canal and the small beach in the area, which is a nesting site for turtles.

The order of activities in Tortuguero may vary depending on the hotel's schedule.

Transfer duration: 3h by road and 1h30 by boat.

DAY 3 | TORTUGUERO

Get ready to explore Tortuguero National Park: take a boat trip to visit the canals of Tortuguero. It's a fun and different way to discover this breathtaking landscape.

Return to the lodge for breakfast.

Later, you'll visit the lodge's surroundings and nature trails accompanied by a local guide to discover this very humid rainforest, its flora and fauna.

Lunch at the Lodge. Enjoy the rest of your day at your leisure to take advantage of the Lodge facilities and activities on offer.

DAY 4 | TORTUGUERO - ARENAL

Breakfast at the lodge & check-out.

Leave for the pier, where your transport will be waiting to take you to the town of Guápiles to enjoy a delicious lunch in a local restaurant. Then, continue your shuttle journey to your next destination: La Fortuna de San Carlos, home to the magnificent Arenal volcano. Before December 2010, the Arenal volcano was one of the ten most active volcanoes in the world, and a truly majestic one at that, spewing molten rock and ash from its summit on a daily basis. Today, no more fiery blazes, for the moment, but you can still spot smoke and ash spewing from the volcano's summit.

On arrival, make yourself comfortable in your hotel room and enjoy free time to relax in the hotel's facilities.

DAY 5 | ARENAL

On schedule, you will embark on your journey to Monteverde by crossing Lake Arenal by boat, one of the most popular options. First, you will take a short drive from your hotel to the Lake Arenal dam. There, you will board a boat and enjoy a 30-minute sail across the lake. On the other side, you will catch a minibus to complete the final hour-and-a-half journey to Monteverde.

This place is a true paradise for nature lovers, with a wonderful diversity of flora and fauna. Unique among Costa Rica's other tropical forests, Monteverde is constantly shrouded in mist, similar to clouds, which gives it its name.

If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.
Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.

In order to best organise your time in the airport, we advise that you arrive 2 hours before boarding for a medium-haul flight, or 3 hours before boarding for a long-haul flight (more than 5 hours). Take advantage of your early arrival to pass through security and check your luggage.
