Your detailed itinerary

Day 1: BARI - ALBEROBELLO REGION

On arrival in Bari, pick up your rental car at the airport and drive to the Alberobello region. Take the time to stroll around the historic town centre and relax on one of the many café terraces... Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: ALBEROBELLO REGION - MATERA

A stroll is required to fully appreciate Matera and admire the "Sassi", the houses in the troglodyte districts formed by white buildings terraced in such a way that the roofs serve as streets. You can discover this fascinating city by visiting a vast complex of galleries and caves carved into the tuff rock! Return to the hotel.

Day 3: ALBEROBELLO BARI REGION - POLIGNANO A MARE MONOPOLI

Discover the old medieval town of Bari, with its typical Italian atmosphere and network of alleys and stairs, often concealing women preparing fresh pasta in front of their houses! Bari also has two beautiful churches dedicated to the city's patron saints. It's a pleasure to take your time and enjoy the atmosphere in Bari... Then drive towards the coast, towards Polignano A Mare, to admire the beautiful panorama of houses hugging the cliffs... Enjoy a lovely stroll through the small winding streets full of history overlooking the sea. Not far away, Monopoli, the medieval town centre is well worth the detour as well as the beautiful view of the castle... Overnight stay in Alberobello.

Day 4: ALBEROBELLO

Off to Alberobello, a classic stopover on any trip to Puglia and a UNESCO-listed site. You'll enjoy strolling through the small winding streets discovering the "trulli", the region's typical circular houses topped with conical roofs. Enjoy an aperitif at one of our favourite places in Alberobello. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5: CONVERSANO - BRINDISI LECCE

Head for Brindisi, nicknamed "The Gateway to the East" which has been a major port since Roman times. Then, take some time to explore Lecce, "the Baroque Florence" with its magnificent architecture. The local stone is particularly soft and lends itself superbly to carving, as can be seen in the many ruins that make this city so renowned for its culture. Overnight stay in the Lecce region.

Day 5: LECCE - OTRANTO GALATINA - GALLIPOLI - LECCE

Explore the eastern tip of Italy, by visiting Otranto, where a dialect that is very close to Greek is still spoken. You can stroll through the old town and visit the cathedral with its amazing mosaic floors. Drive inland to discover the charming little town of Galatina and visit the chapel of San Paolo where "tarantulees", women bitten by tarantulas, found a cure for their illness. Then, head for the Gallipoli peninsula with its whitewashed houses with roof terraces and enjoy the uninterrupted views as you stroll along the ramparts. Overnight stay in the Lecce region.

Day 7: LECCE - SANTA MARIA DI LEUCA OR PORTO CESAREO - LECCE

Enjoy a beautiful day of relaxation in the region with the most beautiful beaches in southern Italy. Overnight stay in the Lecce or Galatina region.

Day 8: LECCE - BARI

This is the end of your journey through the magnificent, wild region that is Puglia. Drop off your vehicle at Bari airport and have a safe flight home!

This step order may be reversed due to local regulations but the overall programme will still be followed.

  • Economy car hire (Fiat Panda or equivalent) for the duration of your stay with unlimited mileage, collected and returned at Bari airport

    - CDW (Collision Damage Waiver), TP (Theft Protection), TPL, Airport and Government Taxes, and VAT.

This price does not include:

  • surrender of deductibles and supplementary insurance
    - fuel, options and any parking charges.
    - fines (fines will be billed directly by the rental company)
    - administration fees should you need to change the name of the main driver

Car rental terms & conditions:
- Drivers must be at least 21 years old (a young driver supplement is payable on arrival for drivers up to 24 years old)
- Maximum age: 75. Drivers over 75 must pay a supplement of €40.
- Your driving licence must have at least 1 year's validity

PLEASE NOTE:
- For car hire, the full name of the driver must be provided at the time of booking. Any change or modification in the name of the main driver after confirmation will incur an administration fee (please read all the information concerning car rental).
- The main driver must be over 25 years old.
- Age limit: 75
- A **credit card in the name of the main driver with access to sufficient funds to cover the security deposit will be required, VISA or MASTERCARD only. (Please note: AMEX and debit cards are not accepted).
- You must provide your passport
- The vehicle must be returned with a full tank of fuel.
- You must be able to produce a valid driving licence and keep it on you during your stay.

If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.
Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
For safety reasons, the wellbeing facilities of most establishments are not accessible to children under 16 years old. Similarly, it is possible that some amenities or services require an additional charge or are unavailable for exceptional reasons.
Unless otherwise stated in the service description, activities and any additional services available at destination, are provided in the language of the destination country and in English.

Travel documents

Once your reservation has been made, you will receive a confirmation e-mail before your travel documents are sent.
Regarding the transport documents (in the case of a reservation with transport included), we will provide you with all the information relating to check-in and luggage in the "Your travel documents" email, allowing you to leave with peace of mind.
To take advantage of all your reserved services (hotels, transfers, activities, etc.), you will receive one or more exchange vouchers to be presented to each supplier.
The contact details of the establishment will be specified in these documents, to help make your arrival at your destination as straight-forward as possible.

Transportation

Choose an offer and, according to your preferences, opt for a seat in economy, business or first class.

In order to best organise your time in the airport, we advise that you arrive 2 hours before boarding for a medium-haul flight, or 3 hours before boarding for a long-haul flight (more than 5 hours). Take advantage of your early arrival to pass through security and check your luggage.
You will be informed whether or not luggage is included at the time of your booking.
You will have the opportunity to add additional luggage for a fee.
There are several different cities that are typically offered as departure points. Your arrival destination will show in your travel documents.
Depending on the flight schedule, some arrivals or returns may be made at night with early arrival or late departure. You will not always be able to have your room available immediately and will need to refer to the check-in and check-out conditions of the hotel.
In the event that your transfer is not included in your hotel reservation, it may be offered at the time of your reservation as an additional option. Unless specifically mentioned, transfers may be made in groups of 15 to 55 people.
