DAY 1 FARO

Arrival at Faro airport. Car keys handover.

Overnight stay at a hotel in Albufeira or Quarteira.

DAY 2 LAGOS / SAGRES / CAPE ST VINCENT / SILVES

Begin your journey in the charming town of Lagos, with its picturesque old quarter. Then, explore the spectacular cliffs of Ponta da Piedade. In Sagres, be sure to visit the impressive fortress and the Museum of Discoveries. Next, discover the breathtaking scenery of the Serra de Monchique in Silves, before finishing off with a sunset at Cape St Vincent, the southernmost point of mainland Portugal.

Return and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3 PORTO COVO / SINES / SANTIAGO DO CACÉM / ALCÁCER DO SAL / SETUBAL

Drive along the magnificent coastal road to Porto Covo, with its authentic atmosphere of a traditional fishing village. Explore Pessegueiro, a picturesque island with a fascinating history. Visit Sines and its charming old town, steeped in a rich cultural heritage. Finish your trip in Alcácer do Sal, a town with historic charms and a peaceful atmosphere.

DAY 4 SETUBAL / LISBON

Explore the magnificent Troia Peninsula. Discover the picturesque village of Carrasqueira with its unique wooden pontoons. Take the 20-minute ferry crossing to Troia and Setúbal with your car (not included in the price) and enjoy the coastal scenery along the way. Visit the historic old town of Setúbal and immerse yourself in its charm. Next, explore the spectacular panoramic views of the Serra de Arrábida Natural Park. End your trip in the charming coastal town of Sesimbra, renowned for its beaches and gastronomy.

DAY 5 LISBON

Experience the Portuguese capital, Lisbon, on an unforgettable day out. Explore the Belém district and admire its iconic monuments. Then immerse yourself in the elegance of the historic city centre, Baixa, with its bustling streets and magnificent architecture.

DAY 6 LISBON / EVORA

Explore the village of Arraiolos, which is renowned for its traditional carpet-making. Then head to the historic old town of Évora to see its iconic monuments. This region of Portugal offers a truly enriching cultural experience.

DAY 7 BEJA / MÉRTOLA / FARO

Discover the treasures of the Alentejo region, explore the majestic Alqueva dam and visit the charming towns of Moura and Serpa. Next, continue your adventure in Beja before immersing yourself in the historic atmosphere of Mértola, a truly unique open-air museum.

Overnight at a hotel in Montegordo or Albufeira.

DAY 8 FARO

Breakfast. Return to the airport to return the vehicle and end of the stay.

During your self-drive you will stay for 8 days and 7 nights in 3-star hotels (local standards):

  • Nights 1 and 2: Bayside Salgados Hotel (or similar)
  • Night 3: Aranguês Setual Hotel (or similar)
  • Nights 4 to 5: Nacional Hotel (or similar)
  • Night 6: Stay Evora Hotel (or similar)
  • Night 7: Calema Aparthotel (or similar)

Your meals

During your self-drive tour, you will enjoy a bed and breakfast plan.

A tapas meal in Lisbon is also included.

Includes an assortment of hot and cold drinks and sweet and savoury dishes.

Your Car Hire

This price includes:

  • Category A car hire (Citroën C1 or similar) for the duration of the stay, i.e. 8 days.
  • Unlimited mileage
  • Third-party insurance (Excess Waiver - Excess = €150).

This price does not include:

  • Fuel, any parking charges.
  • Fines (fines will be invoiced directly by the car hire company).

Car hire conditions:

  • Minimum age: 23 years old minimum (less than 2 years driving licence or/and less than 23 years old, young driver supplement up to €100 per hire).

Pick-up and drop-off of vehicles:

  • You must present your passport
  • You must present your valid driving licence and carry it with you during your stay.
  • Timetables are given for information only and may be changed on site without prior notice.
  • All cars are collected and returned at Faro airport.
  • There is a supplement of €45 for the pick-up or drop-off of the car outside the following times: 9.00 a.m. - 7.00 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to hire a car, we require the full name of the driver before departure. Any change to the main driver's name after it has been validated will incur a fee. Please read all the car hire details carefully.

Customers must leave a deposit of this value in Visa or Mastercard.

Practical details

If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.
Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
For safety reasons, the wellbeing facilities of most establishments are not accessible to children under 16 years old. Similarly, it is possible that some amenities or services require an additional charge or are unavailable for exceptional reasons.
Unless otherwise stated in the service description, activities and any additional services available at destination are provided in the language of the destination country and in English.
The opening times and hours of the activities, restaurants and bars are provided as an indication only and may be subject to change. Contact the reception desk in order to be informed of any changes.

Travel documents

Once your reservation has been made, you will receive a confirmation e-mail before your travel documents are sent.
Regarding the transport documents (in the case of a reservation with transport included), we will provide you with all the information relating to check-in and luggage in the "Your travel documents" email, allowing you to leave with peace of mind.
To take advantage of all your reserved services (hotels, transfers, activities, etc.), you will receive one or more exchange vouchers to be presented to each supplier.
The contact details of the establishment will be specified in these documents, to help make your arrival at your destination as straight-forward as possible.

Transportation

Choose an offer and, according to your preferences, opt for a seat in economy, business or first class.

In order to best organise your time in the airport, we advise that you arrive 2 hours before boarding for a medium-haul flight, or 3 hours before boarding for a long-haul flight (more than 5 hours). Take advantage of your early arrival to pass through security and check your luggage.
You will be informed whether or not luggage is included at the time of your booking.
You will have the opportunity to add additional luggage for a fee.
There are several different cities that are typically offered as departure points. Your arrival destination will show in your travel documents.
Depending on the flight schedule, some arrivals or returns may be made at night with early arrival or late departure. You will not always be able to have your room available immediately and will need to refer to the check-in and check-out conditions of the hotel.
In the event that your transfer is not included in your hotel reservation, it may be offered at the time of your reservation as an additional option. Unless specifically mentioned, transfers may be made in groups of 15 to 55 people.
Important: the modification or the cancellation of a booking is only possible within the limits and including the fees outlined in our general conditions of sale.
