Overview
The Alexis Hotel has presided elegantly in the heart of downtown Seattle since the turn of the century. Listed on the National Register of Historical Places, graceful refinement and warm hospitality continue to make The Alexis Seattle's premier hotel. Guestrooms are warm and rich with an eclectic mix of traditionally patterned fabrics and a scattering of antiques. 39 of the 109 rooms are exceptionally spacious elegant suites with some featuring wood burning fireplaces or two person spa tubs and graciously appointed sitting and dining rooms. Perfect for the discriminating traveler. The Bookstore Bar and Cafe featuring a collection of international cookbooks and magazines is a favorite among guests and locals alike. The Library Bistro serves elegantly simple new American cuisine in a stylish welcoming setting with an emphasis on locally grown herbs, vegetables, fresh seafood and honest American food. The Library Bistro is known as one of the best restaurants in Seattle.

We look forward to returning to the Alexis. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The associated bar was great. The location makes it possible to walk to many sights and other venues. We didn't need our car during our stay. -Debra Brown , from Richland , United States - 10/12/2009

Good But...

The great comfort and excellent service provided by this hotel is somewhat vitiated by the over-the-top interior design to which the formerly shaker-chaste Alexis has succumbed as a Kimpton property. -Peter Mcghee , from cambridge, United States - 9/10/2009

Great price from Perfect Escapes for jacuzzi tub spa room. Large, quiet, well designed room. Easy walk to Pike Place Mkt., ferries, restaurants in the city. -Scott Crowder , from Wilmington, United States - 8/25/2009
Downtown

We stayed one night in the Alexis Hotel prior to a cruise out of Seattle. The hotel is on a busy downtown street, it was very noisy in our room until after 11 P.M. We only had a large shower stall, no tub, there was no shower cap provided, only two towels, no hand towels, two wash clothes, for the cost I would rather stay at the Hampton Inn. The breakfast in the dining room was expensive, slow to be seated each time we went. I would not stay at the Alexis again. -Melinda Gallegos , from Annapolis, United States - 8/3/2009

Late-Night Romance
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
My husband and I stayed at this hotel on our first night away after having a baby. We were looking forward to luxury, romance and a good night's sleep. However, the city-central location meant many guests were enjoying Pioneer Square nightlife. The room adjoining ours hosted a loud, drunken party and hotel policy is not to request guests be quiet until midnight. The front desk did give us earplugs...but so much for our peaceful night's sleep away from baby.
I'd recommend this hotel for a fun, active weekend enjoying downtown Seattle in luxury. Or for some late-night romance. But anyone interested in actually sleeping before 1am should look elsewhere.
The overall design, artwork and luxury of the hotel was fabulous. -Alecia Spooner , from Shoreline, United States - 2/26/2009
Charming and Interesting Boutique Hotel
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
We stayed in one of the upgraded king rooms at this hotel and found it roomy, with interesting furnishings that were comfortable and yet had a nice sense of style. We can't speak to the smaller rooms, but ours was terrific. My husband and I are both avid readers and so we liked the combination restaurant/bar and library adjoining the hotel, along with the spa featuring Aveda products and the shelves full of books in the area where they serve the evening wine tastings and breakfasts.
It's a pet friendly hotel, which is common for Kimpton properties. We have loved every Kimpton hotel we've stayed in, and this one did not disappoint us. -Karen Banks , from Vancouver, United States - 1/14/2009
Kimpton Charm and Great Location

Stayed here while visiting our old hometown, and loved it. This was actually our second stay -- we'd gone once before when we lived in Seattle -- so I can safely say that the good stuff we noticed wasn't out of the ordinary.
All of the employees we met were super-friendly and helpful, and the hotel's location is fantastic: a short walk to great bars and restaurants, and sights, the Pike Place Market. Our large room was boutique-swank without being over the top, and our bathroom had a super-deep spa tub, with two seats and enough depth so you could simmer up to your nose. -Anita, from San Francisco, CA, United States - 10/29/2008
Romantic Wedding Destination!
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
Although we live in Seattle, we felt completely transported during our stay at the Alexis. They manage to balance the gorgeous, art-filled, look with friendly staff that make you feel pampered and completely at home. We had our wedding and reception in the Library Bistro. Yes, it is cliche, but it was the best night of my life. The catering manager, Erica Jacobs, the chef, Tiffany, and the rest of the staff did an absolutely superb job of making our night special. To top it off, we spent the night in an amazingly beautiful suite-complete with a tub large enough to fit the entire wedding party (not that they were invited) :) -Amy Preussner , from Seattle, United States - 9/26/2008
Fun Escapade

The Alexis has an understated elegance, yet is at the same time a bit whimsical. Those who value attention to small details and who can appreciate interior design that's bold, but not overtly so, will like this hotel. In keeping with boutique hotels, the lobby is almost incidental - a place to check in and check out. It's all about the rooms (the bar and restaurant looked interesting, but I didn't even enter them). I found the location ideally situated between Pike Place and Pioneer Square, and a $7 cab ride (including the $2 surcharge) got us into Bell Town for an evening meal. Though having precious little need of hotel service, what I did get was very good. A relaxed professionalism, with the staff being aware of you, attentive to your needs, without trying too hard. I plan to try the two other Kimpton hotels in Seattle before deciding which I like best. -Darran Hanson , from Tacoma, United States - 9/25/2008
