Overview
Welcome to San Francisco's newest and "greenest" hotel – the Orchard Garden Hotel! Newly built in the heart of San Francisco, the Orchard Garden Hotel is California's first generation of truly ‘green' hotels – the only hotel built to the nationally accepted standards for green buildings developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) – in order to earn a coveted “Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design” (LEED®) certification.
As proud sister to the award-winning Orchard Hotel, we're located at 466 Bush Street, a perfect neighborhood for discerning business and pleasure travelers. The hotel is a short stroll from Union Square shops and theatres, blocks away from the Financial District dealmakers and San Francisco's legendary cable cars, and just steps from the Chinatown gate. Our 86 stylish guest rooms, gracious boardroom, inviting rooftop garden and superb Roots Restaurant combine graceful luxury with state-of-the-art design in an intimate, residential atmosphere.
Our dedication to sustaining the environment is only surpassed by our commitment to service. The hotel's experienced hospitality team is ready to assist you with every need from valet parking, to concierge assistance, to complimentary morning car service to the Financial District.
Each stylish, eco-friendly guest room is decorated in soothing colors and fabrics and includes high-speed Internet and Wi-Fi access, high definition LCD television with DVD and CD player, iPod docking station, coffee/tea maker, honor bar, in-room safe, dual-line cordless telephones and Aveda organic bath products. A European-style buffet breakfast is available each morning at Roots Restaurant on the lobby level. Works by locally renowned artists are proudly featured in our welcoming lobby.
The Orchard Garden Hotel proudly debuts San Francisco's first guestroom key card energy control system, similar to European and Asian systems. Our ‘green' practices also includes an in-room recycling system, chemical-free cleaning products, compact fluorescent light bulbs and a 100% tobacco-free environment. With every visit, you contribute to the environment's health, while enjoying our city's finest accommodations and services.

Central Location, Good Service and a Very Nice Bed
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
This is a great hotel. The service is very friendly and breakfast is served for only a few dollars.
It is only a few blocks away from Union Square and stands at the Chinatown gate. So shopping shouldn't be a problem.
The rooms are quiet and have the space that is expected for this price. They're very well taken care of.
There is a business center with 2 computers and a printer. For each printed page, there is a small fee to be paid at the front desk.
Tip: If you're staying on New Year's Eve, book the room in advance. Prices in San Francisco start to rise as close as you get to New Year's Eve and may triple or even quadruple on that day. -Aroldo Cardoso Jr. , from Sao Paulo, Brazil - 1/7/2009

Great Stay in SF!

Enjoyable stay at the Orchard in SF. Beautiful hotel with a very helpful staff, and many "green" features. The bathroom was enormous and the room quite comfortable. Lovely box of chocolates and wine there through Perfect Escapes. Overall, a must for my next visit to SF. Only issue was my view... -Glenda Noel-Ney Mark Guthier, from Madison, United States - 8/26/2008
Excellent Stay At Leed Certified San Francisco Hot

We stayed @ the Orchard Garden Hotel July 26th. Staff met every single need, & pro-actively fulfilled the Perfect Escapes package by upgrading our standard room (to a rooftop terrace room!), clearly identified our late check-out rights & were very welcoming. The room was immaculate & well thought out, from the snack center to the enormous bathroom with walk-in shower. It was just like the picture. The environmental touches were appreciated (room card in box by door activates lights & aircon)- they even had a private Prius with leather seats out front to take us to our cross-city destination. The hotel was centrally located (at the China Town gates, blocks from Union Square and the commercial district). The breakfast was an actual European style continental spread with meats, cheese, bread, fruit, yogurt, granola & cereals along with muffins, juice, coffee & tea served in an attractive dining room. Stacks of gratis newspapers completed a relaxing morning. Thanks Perfect Escapes! -Michelle, from Decatur, United States - 8/4/2008
Staff Needs Better Training
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
This hotel did not have my correct rate info at check in; I had to call Perfect Escapes have this problem corrected. Also, the notices read the complimentary breakfast is served until 11, but breakfast wait staff only served until 10AM. When I asked the desk what the correct time was they said 11AM, however, the wait staff stops serving at 10AM. I was advised hotel personnel are still in training. -Adele Ruggiero , from Little Neck, United States - 7/30/2008
Very Nice Hotel

This was a very nice small hotel in a perfect location right next to Chinatown and a short walk to Union Square. We arrived at 12 and they had a room ready for us. We weren't given an upgrade, but they were full and I'm not even sure they had an upgraded level of room at all anyway. They did not know about the wine and chocolates, but when I told them about it, right away they sent up a bottle of wine and some really nice chocolate, so it worked out great. I would stay again. -Lori, from elk grove, United States - 7/9/2008

My stay at the Orchard Garden Hotel was first-rate. I was in town on a business trip, and the hotel's location near Union Square was perfect -- close to my meetings and also convenient for dining and shopping. The hotel's commitment to green technology was evident -- with energy saving elements in the room -- but it did not distract from the luxury experience. The staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. I didn't have a chance to eat in the hotel's Roots restaurant, but it had cool decor and always appeared to be full. A big plus for me was the free wireless access provided by the hotel in each room. I definitely prefer hotels that provide free wireless as part of the room price, instead of making me pay an extra charge for a wireless connection. Kudos to Orchard Garden for this extra. -Steven, from Baltimore, United States - 5/19/2008

This hotel was immaculate and calming. Lovely, peaceful furnishings and a wonderfully comfortable bed. The Shampoo was even orange scented! The breakfast was lovely and all the service was excellent. We will be staying at this hotel often since our son and daughter-in-law (both chefs in San Francisco) have settled there from New York. An extra plus was being at the bottom of the hill. The last time we were here, we stayed at the Fairmont which was lovely, but being at the top of the hill was occasionally "exhausting"! The Orchard Garden was much more convenient! Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will recommend it to our friends. -Robert, from Westfield, United States - 5/12/2008
