In the Italian city of Naples, a new program has launched that turns ex-convicts into city tourism ambassadors.

After going through a preparation program that helps convicts learn to communicate effectively and patiently with tourists of all kinds, they are given bright yellow jackets and assigned to outposts around the city. These ex-con tour guides are there for any tourist needs from giving directions to escorting groups through less safe alleyways.

While some are concerned about the image this portrays of Naples, officials say the ex-prisoners are eager to work and help, and no one knows the ins and outs of the city as well as they do.
