When you think of the happiest place on earth, Disneyland is often the first thing to come to mind. But true happiness takes a little more than smiling characters and zooming rides. A recent study discovered the happiest places on earth, where the “happy” lasts way-beyond a roller coaster and an ice cream cone.

The study by the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) looked at well-being and life satisfaction based on information gathered from a poll in over 140 countries around the world. Those countries whose residents perceived their daily lives as mostly positive experiences ranked higher, with economic health a big factor as well as work-life balance, social networks, job security and a perceived happy future.
