The Atlantic Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale may have come into fame as a wild beach paradise for those who want to cut loose, but that crowd seems to have worn out its welcome, sort of.

Fort Lauderdale has grown out of its teenager stage, taking steps to become a luxury destination like many of Florida’s other famous destinations. Luxury resorts and hotels, which bring high-end dining and shops are transforming the area from a beach bum’s paradise to a jet-set destination. Ft. Lauderdale has also reinvested in its community growth, bringing cultural and performance venues to the city that went from quiet beach community, to “fratastic” party scene, and now hopes to attract the sophisticated sun worshippers.

However, just because the wet t-shirt contests and beer chugging challenges may be a thing of the past, doesn’t mean the young and restless have abandoned Fort Lauderdale. For now, the city receives a combination of Spring Breakers looking for a more mellow beach getaway (with some partying too of course) filling up the last of the economical hotels, and those who come to enjoy the brand new luxury properties springing up around town. As long as there’s enough space for everyone’s towel, Ft. Lauderdale may become high on everyone’s list this beach season.
