The 2009 Mobil Travel Guide has just come out with its lists of outstanding hotels and spas for 2009, including the elite 44 U.S. hotel properties awarded its 5-star status.
Using their “Incognito Hotel Inspections,” where field inspectors rate unsuspecting properties on the facilities and service throughout a 2-night stay, Mobil rated the top 4- and 5-star properties, including international properties for the first time as well. Almost all of the 5-star award-winning hotels are Perfect Escapes hotels, and here are the U.S. 5-star winners:
