We attended the Luxury Travel Expo in the first week of December. The conference is a great opportunity to connect with luxury travel suppliers. Not surprisingly, the outlook for the luxury travel industry is much dimmer than a year ago, but everyone did their best to sport a brave face. The silver lining of the current economic environment is for those who still want to travel, they are able to take advantage of the many great rates and offers available at luxury hotels.
After a couple nights stay on the Strip at Mandalay Bay (which continues to impress as a luxury Las Vegas Strip hotel nearly a decade since its opening – March 1999), we headed to the Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort for a quick visit. It was my first time visiting this property, and it exceeded my expectations. The property is designed to make the most of the private lake, but with an interesting multi-level layout. The lobby is well designed and is a comfortable space to socialize with friends while having a drink and enjoying the view. My room was good-sized and modern. I woke to a beautiful view of the sunrise over the lake. The service all-around was attentive and pleasant. The Keurig in-room coffee machine was a nice amenity and way better than most in-room coffee/tea set-ups. We had the opportunity to play golf on the stunning Reflection Bay Jack Nicklaus designed course. The course offers a wonderful way to enjoy the desert and the lake.
Right now, Perfect Escapes is promoting a third night free offer at this property with rates from $169 per night, which is an unreal deal. If you are looking for a very nice yet very affordable getaway, I recommend you consider Loews Lake Las Vegas. A casino is located across the road, and the Las Vegas Strip is only 20 miles or so away. Also, you can make a quick 20 or so mile expedition to see the magnificent Hoover Dam.
