Ice Skating Central Park

Winter often conjures up many special memories: holidays and family, snow and hot chocolate, and of course… ice skating. Nothing makes kids and adults feel freer than circling around in the cold with winter wind stinging them as they twirl.

Forbes Traveler put together a list of America’s Best Ice Skating Rinks, which all have amazing locations and truly capture the spirit of the season…

New York City
has two of the Best Ice Skating Rinks on the list, The Rink at Rockefeller Center and the Wollman Skating Rink in Central Park. The former is located smack in the middle of all the holiday action with shoppers, entertainment and the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree right beside it. The latter is a favorite family activity for New York visitors, and is surrounded by the beauty of Central Park.

San Francisco’s
new Safeway Holiday Ice Rink in Union Square made the list as it sits in the center of downtown amongst beautiful holiday decorations and tons of shoppers, diners and holiday celebrations all around.

In Boston, The Boston Common Frog Pond Ice Skating Rink is located in America’s oldest public park and evokes a feeling of traditions and past in its winter setting.

Just because your celebration this year is more tropical than traditional, doesn’t mean you have to miss out on this favorite pastime. At the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, you can enjoy “Skating by the Sea”. The skating rink offers amazing views of the Pacific Ocean and Palm trees that really bring the best of both worlds together.
