Kimpton is beginning its latest project, converting the Architects Building in the center of Philly to its newest Palomar hotel.
Set to be completed in 2009, the historical building will be the 10th Palomar hotel for Kimpton and their 11th adaptive re-use project. Kimpton has a long history of converting architecturally unique and historic buildings into hotels. Maintaining the original character and overall exterior look yet transforming the inside into a luxurious host of technologically advanced rooms, ballrooms and meeting spaces, such as will be the case with the Palomar Philadelphia.
The newest Kimpton edition will also boast what it calls a “chef-driven” restaurant which aims to stand out from the hotel as an independent luxury addition to the community, for both hotel guests and locals.
Bringing some much desired luxury in both space and personality to one of the most bustling areas of Philadelphia, the latest Kimpton project seems poised for success, although we’ll have to wait until fall of 2009 to find out for sure.
