Michelin (Everyone) loves the Wynn
Friday, November 30th, 2007

Michelin Guide recently released their first edition of the Michelin Guide for both Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Of the 157 proud restaurants and hotels in Las Vegas to achieve a listing in the austere guide, the Wynn Las Vegas far out-shined the competition.
The Wynn was the only Las Vegas hotel awarded with the coveted Five Red Pavilions rating, Michelin’s highest rating, which only 8 other hotels in the country received. This adds yet another sparkly trophy on the full shelf of Steve Wynn, who has led the Wynn Las Vegas into a all-star year of recognition including the Mobil five-star distinction and AAA five-diamond award.
The grand slam of awards continued for Wynn with its restaurants, 3 of which Michelin also recognized with outstanding achievement. In the 3-star rating system that Michelin follows, one Wynn restaurant, Alex Stratta’s Alex, received 2 stars, and two other Wynn restaurants received 1 star each: Daniel Boulud Brasserie and Richard Chen’s Wing Lei.
All three are major accomplishments in that only 3 Las Vegas eateries in the 2008 Guide received 2 stars, and Wing Lei was the only Chinese restaurant in the country to earn a star.
Hopefully all of this attention won’t go to the Wynn’s head, but in a hotel with as much heart and effort as awards, we’re pretty sure all that glitters is really gold.
