Perfect Change of Scenery With a Peaceful, Soothin

Professional, welcoming, well-informed friendly staff. Comfortable, well-appointed rooms in a modern boutique hotel. Care went into the design and execution of the spaces. My room looked just like the pictures on the website. Loved the bed and bathtub. In the elevator, I overheard a bride-to-be commenting positively about the hotel and staff. The wine reception was held in the pleasant "Living Room." Great to be so close to the Rosslyn Metro station, which made it easy to pop into Washington, DC. I'll recommend it to others, and will stay here again.

Need to Improve Service

I was disappointed with my stay. The hotel staff had limited knowledge about the area and to my knowledge the hotel did not have a concierge. The food in the restaurant was very good, but the two times I ate there I had to search for a host or hostess to be seated. I observed several other patrons walking through the restaurant looking for someone to seat them. The Chef was friendly and customer service oriented. I was interested in specific dining and asked the desk clerk for options and was presented paper list of options, but no one at the front desk was familiar with any of the restaurants. I walked to another hotel and asked for a recommendation. Another opportunity for improved customer service is with the wine taste. The tasting was only partially staffed and most patrons just walked up and poured their own wine (that wasn't bad because refills were plentiful if you wanted them). I provided feedback at checkout by saying I was disappointed with the stay and expected more

DC Without DC Prices

Located across the Potomac, the Palomar gives you DC style, luxury, and service at an affordable rate. It is within a two minute walk the Roslyn metro station, which affords convenient and quick access to the Mall and central DC. Stylish and contemporary, the hotel delivers on Kimpton's usual standards and service. Would definitely stay there again on subsequent trips to DC.

Wonderful Stay at a True Luxury Hotel!

My wife, my mother-in-law and I spent an absolutely fabulous weekend at the new Hotel Palomar in Arlington, VA recently. The hotel had just opened and had a "crisp, new" feel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful at every turn--from doormen to check-in staff, to concierge and room attendants! The ambiance of the hotel is very modern, eclectic, European--great common area (a "living room" with roaring fireplace and evening wine tasting). I invited my adult children and their friends to dinner at Domaso, the hotel's fabulous "northern Italian" restaurant. The food was outstanding, the service very attentive and the bill very reasonable for a four course meal with drinks. My guests were very impressed with every facet of the hotel and we will be staying there again very soon! In fact, I went back for dinner and drinks with professional colleagues yesterday--they were also extremely impressed with the atmosphere, the food and the service. Overall a "10" in my book!
