Even Better Than I Had Expected!

Albeit on the slightly pricier side, this hotel had everything we were looking for: spacious, beautifully appointed room with a great view; tremendous spa facilities; excellent on-site dining/drinks; located right in the heart of downtown Boulder. My wife and I were looking to maximize our first time apart from our 10 month old daughter while attending my friend's wedding, and St. Julien delivered with style! After 3 great nights, we were sad to say goodbye (although we did both miss our daughter terribly!). I'd read issues with service and staff friendliness and usefulness at this property in researching a place to stay, and found absolutely none of that - quite the opposite, I would add. Everyone we encountered was pleasant, helpful and courteous. On an unrelated note, I can't remember the last time I used a hotel pool - the pool and hot tub at the St. Julien were fantastic. -Allan Harris , from Somerville, United States - 9/2/2009

Overall, my 3 day stay at this property was great. Beautiful lobby, well appointed rooms, nice restaurant, and very accommodating staff. The only problem was that the wireless internet did not work in my room for almost my entire stay. I was told that with the hotel fully booked the wireless system can't adequately accommodate all guests. It was inconvenient I had to walk down to a local coffee shop or sit outside on Pearl street to get WIFI. -Julie Smith , from Flossmoor, United States - 8/27/2009

Just What We Needed
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
We were in Boulder dropping off our daughter to begin her freshman year at CU. Coming from NJ; we had been traveling, dealing with shipped boxes, running to BB&B, Target etc., running errands around campus and were needless to say, tired. St Julien was just what we needed; clean, updated, welcoming. What you would expect for this price. Excellent service from valet to waiters to spa staff to front desk. Yes they are one of the pricer hotels in the area, but if it is in your budget, don't stay anywhere else. Steps to Boulder Creek Path, steps to Pearl Street, very easy access to campus; you could even walk in 20 minutes depending on your pace. -Elizabeth, from Basking Ridge, United States - 8/25/2009
Beautiful Hotel Doesn't Live Up to Potential
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
The hotel is beautiful. Unfortunately the staff is poorly trained and uninformed on how to treat guests at this quality of hotel. The first night we stayed there was a party in the room next door - loud blaring music and people at 3:00 AM. When I called the front desk they seemed surprised I wanted the music turned down. They sent someone to the room and the music went to a dull roar until 4:00 AM. Ditto next night. Directions from the staff to other places in Boulder - wrong. I called twice to ask for a robe to be replaced after house keeping took the robe by accident. We have stayed in so my lovely hotels like St. Julien, this is the first time so many things went wrong. -Terrence, from Manhattan Beach, United States - 8/13/2009

Gorgeous hotel, small rooms but who spends time in the rooms. Bathrooms were great. Room rates were a bit high, considering. Beds were tempurpedic but weren't that comfortable. And parking was expensive. Beautiful views. Loud corridors, could hear doors slamming at all hours of day/night. Bike rental was great! The only way to get around town. Check in was easy, but every time I visited the front desk, attendees seemed apathetic and unfriendly. Did the job, but with no smile on their face. I would stay again though, the price was worth the location. -Kelly Mikler , from Laguna Niguel, United States - 7/8/2009

Great Stay!

The Spa was great. I got my first full body massage. The bellboy was very friendly and was our own personal concierge (the real concierge was helpful as well). The bellboy gave us a lot of great ideas for dinner. Also, I needed 2 internet connections in the room and each room only comes with one. The happily moved us to a room right over the lobby which had free wireless. I had a perfect wireless connection in that room to go along with the free ethernet in the room. The bathroom was great. My wife loved the bath products in the room. Also, the bathtub was big enough for two people to fit comfortably. The hotel was one short block from all the shops and restaurants on Pearl St. Overall, we were very pleased. -Marc Rothman , from Chicago, United States - 7/9/2008
Bad Towels

The hotel is great except for the towels. They were thread bear and frayed at the edges. When you pay that much for a hotel room, I expect a very thick and nice towel. -Jill Langer, from Superior, United States - 12/20/2007
