Overview
Enjoy seaside elegance, sunset finales and gracious service preserved from the Great Gatsby era of pampering at Florida's legendary Pink Palace since 1928. The only historic resort on the Gulf of Mexico from the Florida Keys to the tip of Texas. Sleep splendidly in enhanced guest rooms with a Mediterranean look including custom made furniture, large windows and a special bedding of goose down pillows and plush duvets. Experience a beachside escape indulging in rejuvenating spa treatments including soothing seaweed wraps or gentle sea salt massages at the resort's beach club and spa. In addition to miles of pearlescent sand beaches, the Don tickles guests pink with enticements such as an array of sun and surf activities two luxurious pools enveloped in tropical gardens and the Maritana Grille - a signature Four Diamond restaurant that surrounds guests with 1,500 gallons of saltwater fish aquariums and delectable Floribbean cuisine.

A Romantic Escape

I told may special girl to be ready at 9:59 AM and we were going someplace.
She had no idea where we were going until we drove up to the "The Don". The one and only Don Cesar. Need I say she was impressed. Our stay was fantastic. The history tour was a haunting experience. A must.

Wasn't Quite Up to My Expectations

I have stayed at the Don Cesar sister property down the street, Beach House Suites, and was excited to stay at the main property. When booking through this website it had 3 out of 4 things I needed with my flight schedule. Early check in, Late check out, free upgrade [on availability], your choice of wine or champagne was a bonus. Arrived at noon and they had a room available on the 2nd floor so we took it but no upgrade could happen because they were at 100% occupancy for that day. We got to our room and it was the smallest hotel room I have every seen. The room had 2 double beds not queen beds. When you sat on the toilet if someone needed to come in they could not because the door hits your knees. We also later found out that the 2nd floor is the floor where they allow pets, dogs of all sizes. It made me think how clean is the room and carpet. We did get our wine sent to the pool area and enjoyed it. When we called for late check out we were only given until 2pm not 4pm, hotel -Francine Whiteford , from Granger, United States - 8/14/2009
Thank God It Was Mother's Day, We'll Use That As T

When my wife and I drove from Orlando to make a 4pm check in time so that she could get ready for her 6pm bridal party rehearsal dinner, we were told our room wasn't ready. We didn't get a room until 6:30, after I had been accused by the guest service rep of "bullying" her into getting a room. This reservation was made 90 days ahead of time in preparation for attending a wedding with a specific request of a sharp check in and I'm a "bully". Needless to say my wife about lost it, women and their weddings!
It was a busy weekend due to Mother's Day and 6 weddings, so we'll give the benefit of the doubt here. This place is no Ritz-Carlton (they cap weddings at 3 per weekend).
Overall the stay was only redeemed by the beautiful beach and the friendly pool staff. The front desk needs to spend a week at the Ritz Carlton training camp. Oh, and the rooms are like shoe boxes. -Paul, from Orlando, United States - 5/19/2009
Don Cesar Was Amazing
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
Our biggest gripe was that our plane was delayed and we missed out on our first day at the hotel! Everything was perfect. Our room had a gorgeous view and we enjoyed the Old World atmosphere of the place. The recently renovated spa has my vote for one of the best I've experienced. Our Perfect 10 package gave us some added goodies and a late check out which helped us regain a little time at the Don Cesar. -Jean Treuthart , from York, United States - 3/5/2009
