Very good hotel considering that it was Russia. Service level high but certainly Russian standard. Food good but not spectacular as one might have thought. The bar was great with jazz music. A glass of champagne shockingly expensive - Russian sparkling wine good and price sensible. Everything rather expensive otherwise. All billings correct and all very clean.

Grand Hotel Europe is a magnificent hotel in the heart of the action in St. Petersburg. It is situated right on the main shopping street and only a 15 minute walk to the Hermitage Museum. Perfect Escapes saved me $125 per night over the cheapest rate I could get on the hotel's own web site.

Great hotel, moreover concierge very reliable and great recommendations, esp for restaurants. Terrific location and overall stay very comfortable. Not sure why other reviews in Trip Advisor had issues with surroundings as hotel is central and in safe nice area near Philharmonic, caddy corner to Gvinsky Dvor and Russia Museum.

Rooms are nice, but service could be better. Concierge misinformed us on a couple of occasions, and were disinterested. Tour prices through the hotel are ridiculously expensive.
