My friend and I went to the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa to relax - and we did! The grounds are beautiful! All of the hotel staff was friendly, nice, and helpful. The massages were great! The food at the hotel restaurants was great, too. We plan to make this an annual trip. -Melissa, from Rancho Cucamonga, United States - 9/30/2009

Comfortable and more than we expected. First class service in every way. For example, the pool man provided iced towels scented with a lavender oil to place on our necks in the 95 degree desert heat. He also came out with ice water. All this without being asked by anyone. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel was also exceptional. -Lee, from Castro Valley, United States - 9/28/2009

Ojai Valley Inn

The valets and front desk attendants were not very helpful. Because we booked through Perfect Escapes we thought we would get the room upgrade. Despite the fact that the OVI was nearly empty, we did not. We had to ask about it and all we were told was that it's only done if a room is available. How one could not have been available given the fact that most of the rooms were empty, is somewhat of a mystery. The food service is excellent and quality of food is excellent. I would give them 5 stars for that. -Deborah, from Lake Mary, United States - 9/19/2009
Enjoy Staying at The Ojai Valley Inn and Spa
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
I have stayed here many times. The hotel has a friendly staff and while expensive, the higher end rooms are very nice. The views from these rooms are great, too. I have not stayed in the less expensive rooms, so I don't have knowledge of them. The rooms next to the golf cart paths can get noisy very early in the morning with employees driving by, while the rooms right on the golf course are much more peaceful and quiet. It would be helpful to have a refrigerator in the room. Personal items cannot go into the mini bar. The pub restaurant serves good drinks and pizza. We enjoy that over the other restaurants, which are good, but not outstanding. -Susan Stinchfield , from Riverside, United States - 9/9/2009

4 Star Property At A 5 Star Price
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
Is the hotel property nice - yes but only if you get one of the new rooms. The historical rooms are very tired. Is it a 5 star property - not a chance!! Service was OK at best. No one available to make restaurant reservations most of the day. Ants in the rooms. Even new rooms are soundproofed poorly. We were able to hear casual conversations in neighboring room. Breakfast room had no view and was very overpriced. Art studio was excellent as was spa. -H. Terry, from Yorba Linda, United States - 8/21/2009
Ojai Escape
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
My husband and I took a much needed few days away, with our 6 month old baby. The Ojai Valley Inn was much more than we could have hoped for. The rooms were stunning, the spa facilities luxurious and the service was impeccable. Everything we needed was taken care of without having to ask, all the way down to the valet removing and throwing away an empty juice bottle from our car. The pool staff remembered our special request beverages from the day before, and the baby sitting service the hotel suggested for our baby sent over a more than capable pediatric nurse. We will absolutely be back and I will recommend the Inn to anyone that will listen. -Alex Hughes , from Ben Lomond, United States - 8/17/2009
Breathtaking Beauty Meets Superb Service!

I have stayed in many 5 star resorts and I have to say that for meeting all of my needs from great weather and breathtaking beauty, to outstanding service and spa staff, to tennis and golf, fine dining to child-friendly, The Ojai Valley Inn beats them all!! I will go back again and again! -Diana Hill , from somis, United States - 8/6/2009

A Great Escape
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
We enjoyed exploring the gardens, buildings, and activities at the resort. It was large enough to allow for new discoveries over several days. The mix of old historic inn with modern facilities was just right. It was quiet and private but there was a good mix of people in the restaurants and at the pools to make it seem lively and friendly. -Ernest and Leslie, from Solvang, United States - 8/3/2009
Absolutely Perfect
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
The hotel itself is gorgeous, the grounds are so aesthetically pleasing and well cared for. The staff was attentive yet seamlessly available. The Perfect Escapes reservation we got included breakfast each morning which was delicious, beautiful, out on the porch and a perfectly satisfying way to begin the day. It was quiet and restful, the spa is so relaxing, the amenities were plentiful, the cool towels for your face that were lavender scented, the showers were great. I just cannot say enough about how this hotel exceeded our expectations once again. We will make a tradition of this long-weekend paradise. -Marilynn Holland , from Palo Alto, United States - 7/31/2009

Enjoyed Our 20th Anniversary
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
The complex is really beautiful especially at dawn and dusk. Large oak trees line the golf course with the mountains as the backdrop. My wife and I do not play golf, but it was still pretty. We spent our time hiking, running, laying by the pool and a couple of visits to the spa. Hiking is very challenging with 2 close hikes up the mountain of about 4400 feet up and then back down. Nothing impressive about the town of Ojai, no great shopping and we didn't find any great restaurants so we ate at the Inn and Spa most meals. Food was always good, but pricey. Thankfully through Perfect Escapes our $70 to $90 breakfast was free everyday. That was for omelette, potatoes, coffee, OJ and toast for 2 people. Upgrade of our room through Perfect Escapes put us in a great room overlooking golf course and out onto the mountains. Temperatures were cool at night, 55-60 and wonderful during the day, 80-82 during our trip the 3rd week of June. Bottom line is it was a great week for our 20th. -Charles Tindol , from Suwanee, United States - 6/24/2009
Beautiful Escape

I went there with my two sisters for a sisters weekend. We asked for and received an upgrade to a suite. It was just beautiful. The grounds of the resort are manicured. The Spanish tiles and courtyards with fountains were charming. The spa was just perfect. We ate at both restaurants and were very pleased with the service and food. When it got chilly one night, they brought wraps for us to put on. All of the staff, from the valet staff to the waiters made us feel most welcome and were most accommodating. We even had a waitress take us on a shorter path back to our room after dinner. We have been to a few other spas in California and rate this top of the list. -Beth Maline , from Herndon, United States - 5/21/2009

A Great Escape!

A great destination. Excellent room size, attention to detail and very good service. Located in a valley, this resort is in a gorgeous setting! If you are looking for 'a lot of action' this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a quiet relaxing luxurious getaway, this is the place. We did not use the restaurants, (we ate in Ojai at other restaurants). Ojai is a great weekend getaway. -George, from Calabasas, United States - 5/7/2009

Not Room Service
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
Could be a great hotel...but not right now. First - room a glamorous motel room - exact bathroom as Motel 6 but with fancier products, shower curtain and towel, shower/tub - really utilitarian, NOT LUXURY AT ALL.
Spa was nice - gym really great. Property maintained OK. Room Service was a nightmare at dinner - messed up order and not great,
then breakfast debacle - ordered whole wheat toast and poached egg - no toast then 25 minutes later they send rye bread not even toasted - had to leave for appt. could not eat. When I called room service to ask about wheat toast - they said they did not have any!!!? And this is supposed to be luxurious - no - stay at a plain hotel in Ojai. -Marina, from San Francisco, United States - 11/5/2008
