Romance on the River

My stay at the Contessa was fabulous. The rooms were spacious with great views of the River walk. The concierge was kind enough to get my party of four a table at Bourdeaux's across the street even though there was a 2 hour wait. My overall stay was quite enjoyable. I will be back.

La Contessa was wonderful! Every individual we interacted with was incredibly pleasant and professional. Every employee asked us how they could help whenever we saw them. The room was very clean and beautiful. We overlooked the river and it was beautiful. The bed was VERY comfortable and the room was quiet and relaxing. We will return! Thank you for a relaxing and wonderful experience!

The Contessa Riverwalk San Antonio

Room was clean but not as grand as expected of a "luxury" hotel. Beds were very comfortable and the Aveda Spa was delightful. Valet parking fee was high at $25. Our room was rated as a Riverfront room but our view was primarily of the adjacent parking garage. Among the reasons we chose this hotel was for the pool and hot tub which closed for draining and repair. This type of maintenance is scheduled in advance and should have been disclosed prior to our booking. In general we had a nice experience but we were looking for a very high-end experience. The cost of our one night with all taxes and fees was just under $350. Having stayed at numerous hotels throughout the country, I would have expected to pay less than half of that for this type of hotel experience.
