Pitts. Light Up Night
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
I take my daughter and grandchildren to Light Up Night every year. We wouldn't stay any other place. The hotel is breathtaking at Christmas time. The tree is outstanding and we enjoy taking pictures in front of it. The walk up town to see the fireworks is great. There is a small toy store close by that gives out animal balloons that the boys love. The staff is wonderful and very professional. The rooms -- beautiful and the bed I would love to take home with me. Staying at the William Penn at Light Up Night has become a family tradition with us. Wouldn't miss it!! - 7/15/2009

We planned this trip (3) month's in advance. It was a 6 hour drive. When we got there at 3:00 PM, I was told that the room wasn't ready. I explained to the young lady that I had driven 6 hours and would appreciate the room being ready as soon as possible. I went to the bar to have a beer. Waited 2 hrs. I told the bar waiter (who was extremely nice) what had happened. He told his manager and the manager came over and asked me what had happened. I explained, he gave me a free beer and said that he would check on the status. He returned in 15 minutes and said that the room would be ready by the time I finished my beer. Needless to say, that didn't happen. I waited another (1) hour before I got to my room. The very next morning I was awakened by the maintenance man hammering on the door next to my room. My wife hollowed out to him to please not do that at 8:00 AM in the morning. He continued to do it for at least the next hour. This is not the 1st time that I have stayed there. -Jessie Hubbard , from LYNCHBURG, United States - 10/7/2008
