Wonderful Hotel

We stayed at the Sofitel Philadelphia for my husband's birthday weekend. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Our room was very clean, and the bed was so comfortable! The bathroom was well stocked with bath products and towels. We enjoyed having drinks down in the hotel bar area before (and after!) going out for dinner dinner. We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect Philly Location

In addition to the cozy, but modern decor, you have a great location for dining, shopping, sightseeing, or doing very little at all. Definitely visit Rittenhouse Square park and bring a cup of coffee for people watching while you decide where to do dinner, and take a short city walk to Reading Terminal Station. At the hotel, enjoy the amazingly comfortable beds and perfect sized glass showers. If available, ask for a room with a great city view. Will definitely go back.

The hotel was well maintained and the staff very helpful. Great location & walking distance to most downtown areas (at least during the day). Parking was very expensive ($36/day), but with in/out privileges!! Overall, great hotel!

I was upgraded to a junior suite because my size room was not available. I loved the room and bed and the bathroom. The place was very clean (very important for me). The front desk was a little stuffy, but very accommodating after a few interactions. The only minus are the hallways: a little old and need updating. Lights are not really nice.

Very nice room with a simple, modern design. Everything was perfectly clean and new looking. The room even had a nice view of Center City Philadelphia. Quick check-in and check-out by friendly front desk staff.

In addition to the fabulous rate through perfectescapes.com, the staff was efficient, friendly, and helpful. The room was very clean and larger than expected, especially the beautifully tiled bathroom, and we would have taken the bed home with us if we could - simply comfortable. Complimentary coffee in the cafe was done nicely (we're Starbucks drinkers at home, so it's easy to disappoint). We'll be back.

The Sofitel does not disappoint, especially with the great rate we got through Perfect Escapes, with early check-in and late check-out. The beds and pillows are super-comfortable. The bathroom is luxurious, beautifully designed with nice amenities. Don't miss the lobby bar - great spot for street level people watching. Also love the breakfast buffet! We will always choose this for overnights in Philly!

Our king suite was beautiful and comfortable, but near the elevator, which made an annoying whine every time it went up or down. Don't get a room near the elevator!

This was a nice hotel -- the service was excellent and it had a very good location near Rittenhouse Square. My only complaint was that my room must have formerly been a smoking room and was very stuffy and slightly smoky. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Euro Flair in Center City Philadelphia

We stayed two nights at this very chic, contemporary hotel with a real European flair, in one of the best parts of Philadelphia, two blocks from Rittenhouse Square. We got a great rate for a standard room, and then were upgraded to a suite! The room decor was understated but attractive; the bed super comfortable, and the bathroom truly luxurious, with a big glass shower, separate tub, lots of towels and L'Occitane toiletries. We arrived in late evening and had a tasty snack and wine in the bar, and an excellent breakfast in the bistro/restaurant. The food and wine prices were typical of any good big city hotel, fairly steep, but the quality and service very good. We took advantage of one of the many good restaurants within walking distance, but I would not hesitate to dine in the hotel on another visit. This hotel lacks only an indoor pool and fancy spa facility to put it in the five-star category. We were there for a getaway, but this is a good location for business travelers as wel

Very Good Rate for a Good Hotel

The hotel itself is well maintained and the rooms are very clean and well kept. The room was not ready at noon as promised and there were other annoying small things that kept cropping up like a forgotten wake-up call and no extra shampoo as requested. At checkout, I had an argument with the front desk manager over our room rate but since I had the email from Perfect Escapes verifying our rate, he backed down and honored the rate. It was completely unnecessary, as I had given them a copy at check-in and it should have been a non-issue.
Their restaurant referrals were less than desirable for a family, more of a bar scene but we had good luck with the restaurants we chose for ourselves. Overall, the hotel is lovely and well maintained and I would stay here again.

The room was comfortable and sunny; nice bath and toiletries, robe, hairdryer and iron/ironing board available. Feather bed, pillows and linens excellent. Staff professional and pleasant. Parking $30 plus $6 tax. Great location for walking to restaurants and sites. Room was unavailable at 1:20 pm check-in. Popped back at 5:30 pm and was provided a key. I was only in the room for sleeping. At 11:00 pm, doors started slamming in the hallway and children raced up and down. I called the front desk. The commotion stopped. I will definitely return again.

Chic, modern, and a breath of fresh air when compared to other upscale hotels in Philadelphia. Great attention to detail and comfort. The bed beats the Westin's heavenly bed! This was 10 times more comfortable! We stayed at the Bellvue last year and the Sofitel is much better overall. We have found our new favorite hotel!
