Overview
For intimate luxury in the perfect location, The Lodge at Vail prides itself on a location unlike any other in Vail. It rests at the very base of Vail mountain, just steps away from the villages main ski lift. On the hotels other side, you will find Vail's pedestrian village -a world of boutiques/shops, nightclubs and cafes. Renowned for its relaxed luxury and impeccable service, The Lodge at Vail combines the elegance of an alpine lodge with the warmth of Western hospitality. It's a place of award-winning restaurants where the staff greets its guests by name and anticipates every need.
The Lodge at Vail, one of the most celebrated mountain resort hotels in the world, expertly combines the old world intimacy and charm of a European Alpine inn with the exceptional modern amenities and services found in today's finest hotels. In keeping with this tradition of excellence, The Lodge at Vail and its surroundings are undergoing an extensive transformation -- known as Vail's front door project -- that will enhance the guest experience and set the standard for luxury mountain resorts.
The front door project, which began in June 2006 and is scheduled to be complete in November 2007, includes exciting new developments such as 13 luxury chalet residences, a state-of-the-art Avanyu Spa at The Lodge at Vail, an exclusive ski club, a new skier services center, an outdoor event venue and more.

Not As Good As It Should Be

This is the second and last time we will be staying at The Lodge. They seem to be relying on their name a little too much. Things like vacuuming the stairs to the bar at 7pm, take the edge off 'luxury'. Bar staff watching the basketball instead of looking after guests, and the valet guys who still couldn't recognize us after a week stay. Every time we got back to the hotel we were asked if we were checking in. We will stay at the Four Seasons when it opens next year, and I think unless The Lodge gets its act together, it will be very empty next year. -Bridget, from Walton on Thames, England - 3/25/2009
