Overview

Enjoyed Stay but Disappointed About Parking Fee

I liked the package deal but was disappointed in having to pay for parking which was supposed to be free. If the free parking was 'valet parking' it should have been stated. OK, now for the good: Champagne and a lovely brunch. Some people didn't like the frosted bathroom door but I did. Nice comfy bathrobe. Late checkout was great.

A Perfect Hotel for a Great Escape

A great location! Clean hotel with friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. If traveling by car, the breakfast/parking package is a great value. The room was perfect except for the bathroom which was a bit small...one at a time :-)! The location was perfect for theater, shopping, and eating, on top of being quiet for a good night's sleep. I strongly recommend the hotel, and we will be back in the Spring!

This was a quick in and out on a layover but the room was large for NYC and in a great location to walk out and eat. Very nice breakfast buffet and wifi available. Trendy without trying too hard and very helpful staff.

Great Place to Stay

The heating broke down, the room was so cold we had to get a heater brought to the room. The room was clean and comfortable - and a decent size by New York standards. The bathroom was really small, but clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was good - great restaurants in the area - eating with locals rather than tourists. The Crooked Knife around the corner on E30tth is worth a try. Short walk to subway and major stores. No real complaints - we had a great time in NY and were happy to be at this hotel even though it was pricey.

Location is perfect for getting around (2 blocks from 6 train, east line) without being in congested areas. Room larger than most I have stayed in the City. Breakfast was excellent, reminded us of boutique European feel. Basically used it as a launching pad for enjoying the city and quick place to grab a drink / relax before venturing out. Always able to grab a cab and hotel staff attentive and pleasant.

Not Just a Great Value, but a Great Hotel in NYC

Hotel Roger Williams is a phenomenal value in NYC. My girlfriend and I went for Columbus Day weekend, and were incredibly pleased. The Perfect Escapes rate was great for any hotel, let alone a gorgeous gem in the middle of Manhattan. Murray Hill is a nice, quiet section of town, great eating & drinking, and very close & accessible to Midtown, Union Square, Soho, etc. We booked a terrace suite, which is on the top floor. We overlooked Madison, had a great view of the Empire State building, and thoroughly enjoyed our large outdoor balcony. Reading, pre-dinner drink, just great. A terrace in Manhattan, who would have thought? The staff was great, the price was very right, the location is great, I will surely stay here again. The room was large by NY standards, was very clean, etc. The bathroom was on the small side, but who really cares? Highly recommended.

Great Hotel

Staff was very gracious and helpful. Our room was upgraded as promised and the free champagne was waiting for us. Dinner was wonderful but a bit pricey. The breakfast buffet was delicious as well and you spend slightly more than you would at a neighborhood breakfast place. Service at both meals was great.
I think charging for toothpaste/toothbrush is a little much but we would stay here again. Very clean rooms and good size for NYC. The $18 daily service fee was waived as promised (although I'm not quite sure what this is for?). I will continue to book through Perfect Escapes for the extras.

Great Hotel, Quiet Neighborhood

Great hotel if you are looking for something nice in a more quiet neighborhood. Very clean. Service was very good - all front desk and doormen always smiling and happy. Bed was very comfortable. My room had a terrace with a wonderful view of the Empire State Building. Even though the hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, the Empire St Building is only 3 blocks away. Great local coffee shop 2 doors down (as well as a tea shop). Plenty of restaurants within 5 blocks. I thought the location might be a little difficult to catch a cab from, but I never waited more than 2 minutes.

My husband and I stayed for just 1 night wile in NYC. Can't say enough about the wonderful staff, very helpful and friendly. The room however was a bit odd in terms odd style and design. Small in size which is typical of some NYC hotel rooms. Reminded me of a cross between a room in Japan and a room at a cottage!

Enjoyed out stay. 4-star customer service. But rooms were definitely more like 3-star. Our upgraded room was quite small, including a very small bathroom. Built-ins were nice, but not of a great quality. Perks through Perfect Escapes were awesome. We would definitely stay again, despite the smaller room.

Everything about the hotel was fantastic. Quiet, beautiful room, incredibly friendly staff, fantastic breakfast. The location was an easy walk from Penn Station, and less than two blocks from the 6 train. Booking through Perfect Escapes we were supposed to get champagne and the $18 service charge waived, and I had to ask for both, but then they sent us a $75 bottle of champagne from room service, and waived the fee at check out. So for the rate we got, which included parking and breakfast, we could not have been more thrilled. I look forward to staying at the Roger Williams when I go back to NYC. It's a beautiful, cheerful hotel.

Not a Luxury Hotel but With the Nicest Personnel a

We arrived to The Roger Williams for a pre-cruise two night stay and we were immediately taken care of. The friendliest door men and receptionist that wanted to know every thing about the purpose of our trip and how we were and gave us all the information we needed for our immediate plans.
Lobby is small but very nicely furnished and smells like lit candles.
Elevators and hallways nicely decorated in bright colors, rooms were of good size in a modern but warm style, with nice touches like Plasma TV, nice window screens and nice work desk and chairs, all so colorful and comfortable. Bathroom was smallish but very modern all in crystal doors, steel sink, nice bath robes, and a lot of items for sale all over the room, from books to umbrella, robes, wine, water and snacks. Room was totally sound proof, a/c is good also
but the very best is the mezzanine lounge that serves an unique breakfast and excellent coffee, also the very tasty food options.

Weekend in the City

The Terrace room we stayed in worked out great. I enjoyed reading the paper and having coffee in the morning. Like most NYC hotels rooms were small but I didn't feel cramped because I could step outside. The service was very friendly. Walking distance to Theater District and the Village. I'll be going back.

The accommodations were very nice. There was some initial confusion about the conditions of the Perfect Escapes reservation, but the manager (Paolo) was very understanding and we received a room upgrade to the penthouse, late checkout, and bottle of wine. Our room had a nice private patio. The location of the hotel was great, very close to the Penn Station and the subway. We would definitely stay here again!

I was very pleasantly surprised by the Hotel Roger Williams charming and spacious rooms. I was nervous going up to the room because the elevator and hallway were small, but the room was perfect. 2 double beds, with plenty of space to move around, bright and colorful quilts, and enough floors up to escape the noise of the city. A very helpful and accommodating staff. A great stay and a great deal through Perfect Escapes.

Hotel/Parking/Breakfast package an excellent bargain for NYC. Few minor complaints- we had to ask that the service charge of $15 be removed from our bill at checkout. Shouldn't have to ask for things that were agreed upon at the time the room was booked!

This hotel turned out to be very nice. It is located a short distance from Times Square however a short taxi ride ($6.00) is worth the stay. The hotel is very clean and the staff was very helpful. The only issue worth noting is the rooms sizes were on the small size but were furnished comfortably. I would definitely use this property again.

Cozy and Chic in One Package

So many boutique hotels are sleek and modern at the expense of comfort; this is NOT a problem at Roger Williams. The rooms are a good size for Manhattan, and the colorful quilt on the bed softens the edges of the otherwise edgy modern design. It's not brimming with over-the-top luxury, and not especially well-suited to business travelers (tiny safe won't hold laptops, and desks lack convenient power outlets) but it's quiet, well-located, and cute. Every employee I saw greeted me warmly, and all seemed genuinely interested in whether I was having a good stay. Oh, and I got a full bottle of very nice Champagne as a treat for booking with Perfect Escapes!

We truly enjoyed our stay in Roger Williams. When we arrived there was no heating in our room and MANAGER Anna changed our room very quickly and also offered us free complimentary breakfast. Hotel is very central and employees are very respectable and helpful. Highly recommended.
