Superb Service

The Sagamore is a good hotel, quiet but centrally placed both with regards to the beach and restaurants/bars. Its best feature is exceptionally positive employees. All staffs are service oriented, friendly, helpful and flexible. Ordinary rooms are spacious and well equipped, but have no view (straight into neighbor building). Superior rooms have good views and many have balconies. The Sagamore does not live up to a European definition of a 5 star hotel, but is probably a good price/quality offer on South Beach. Booking through Perfect Escapes gave us both upgraded room and late check out. The restaurant has a short Italian menu, but is in our experience the best value/quality at South Beach. Many other hotel restaurants that were given top ratings by Frommers like the Blue Door (Delano) or Emeril’s (Loews) asked for substantially higher prices for food that revealed poor craftsmanship in preparation (overcooked items/too many tastes unsuccessfully mixed).

Best of 3 I Have Been to in South Beach

The only amenity I missed was a hot tub outside by the pool. Next time I would reserve a room with a balcony. Otherwise it was perfect. -Kathleen, from Woodbury, United States - 7/30/2009
Spring At the Sagamore

We found the Sagamore to be a great hotel all in all. Maybe a few small negatives but they are few. When we arrived, we found our room to have a King sized bed rather than the booked double bed room. The front desk said that there were none available, so we dealt with it.
As is the case in much of South Beach, parking is sparce. Sometimes the valet parking was slow. My friend is a bodybuilder, and he found the small fitness center (room) very small.
All in all I would give this hotel a rating of 8.5 on a scale of 1-10.

Artsy all-suite hotel on Collins. Perfect location to all shopping and nightlife. Free WiFi really good, but slow at times. Upgraded room through Perfect Escapes was gorgeous!! Two level ocean view suite for $400 is pretty good, I think. Food and drinks are expensive as expected, room service is excellent and prompt. Note that all SoBe places we went to seem to add an 18% gratuity with the bill and the Sagamore is no exception. I find this quite odd as a tip is supposed to be just that.
The hotel itself is quite nice with beach access. Spa is small. There was a great party one of the nights and all the guests were invited as well. Only issue we had was with housekeeping. We stayed in one day tired from partying and the lady seemed very irritated about coming back later. I had to rouse my sleeping wife and deposit her by the pool which of course didn't go down very well with her.
All in all, it's worth visiting if you like space. You can entertain 5-6 people easily in your room. -Shyam Rao , from Chennai, India - 3/5/2009
Miami Boat Show Stay

We enjoyed our stay @ the Sagamore. Our only complaint is that the poolside villas are a little noisy due to its proximity to the pool area, bar & DJ. We were warned & accepted the room by choice. If & or when we return we'd probably opt for a different room location. -Michael Landis , from Charlotte, United States - 2/19/2009

Great Stay At Sagamore
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
Very unique and modern hotel, nice to stay someplace different from the big chains. Very pleased with room, service was exceptional and hotel is easy walk to Lincoln Road Mall for dinner and shopping. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again. The complimentary breakfast was a nice surprise. Pool was closed for renovations but we were able to go next door to use the pool at the Ritz Carlton. -Annmarie Miller , from Martinez, United States - 9/16/2008
Quite, Nice, but...
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
Good location (beachfront, close to Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive). King Garden View Suite has a lot of nice features but room could be cleaner...especially bathrooms were not cleaned properly. Pool was also quite dirty. Overall staff is very friendly (esp. Lee at the pool side bar is doing a great job). UNFORTUNATELY - I believe housekeeping stole 10 designer tops from our drawers and hotel was not very helpful in resolving this issue, therefore I cannot really recommend this hotel. -Marc Lucas , from Praha, Czech Republic - 9/9/2008
So Worth It!

Loved it, loved it, loved it! Service was excellent. All staff were courteous and friendly even down to housekeeping--they checked to make sure if we needed anything without us calling. The hotel's decor is beautiful and well kept (something hard to do when the color is white). I loved our suite, it was modern and chic. It truly was worth the price we paid through Perfect Escapes. I would highly recommend this hotel. The location is also convenient to local shopping. -Toy Mordiglia , from Ossining, United States - 8/5/2008
Horrible Stay!
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
Not only the staff- but management was absolutely RUDE and unaccommodating. I was lied to by the manager on duty- I was not happy with the room we were checked into and called down to the front desk to request a room change. Speaking to the manager on duty, Robert- I asked if there was a room of the same type I reserved but a different layout. He flat out lied to me and said all rooms of this particular type have the same layout. I noticed Housekeeping was at work, cleaning a room down the hall from where I was and went over to take a look. It was about the same size as the room I was in, but totally different layout- this is the room I saw a picture of on their website (and the one I expected to be checked into). I then called the manager and asked about that room, what type it was. He replied that it was the same room type as mine. That totally contradicted what he said to me in our first conversation! Unbelievable! I called him out on this and he finally acquiesced. -Grace Yi , from Laguna Hills, United States - 7/21/2008
Great Place in South Beach

I have have stayed here three times in a couple of years and have always been pleased. Great service and nice clean rooms. All rooms are suites which is great for South Beach that usually features small, boutique rooms. Highly recommend this place. -Gautam, from Philadlephia, United States - 6/16/2008

Suites are Expensive but Nice
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
A very nice hotel with a lot of space in a great location. Ocean View Deluxe Suite has two flat screens (one in the living room and bedroom) and separate sleeping quarters within the suite kept things very quiet, nice bar choices, very comfortable living room, great balcony overlooking the ocean and plenty of desk space to work. Garden with infinity pool and lounge area made it feel a lot more isolated than many other hotels off of Collins. Great place to stay with adequate service. -Matt Hansen, from Morris, United States - 2/4/2008
