Overview
This romantic Wine Country resort has attracted travelers with its beautiful mission-style buildings, attentive service and European-style spa for more than a century. The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn has been the romantic haven for those seeking pleasure and health. The hotel was built in 1926. It is an architecturally accurate replica of a California mission. Major renovations in 1981 and 1999 returned the landmark inn to its 1920s grandeur. The hotel also offers a world-class health spa with more than 50 treatments and natural artisan mineral water pools. Set on 8 beautifully landscaped acres an hour north of San Francisco.

I have to say, for anyone that needs to get away, even if it is only for a day, this resort was such a breath of fresh air.

Directions:
From San Francisco airport: Take Highway 380 west to 280 north. Left onto 19th Ave and across the Golden Gate Bridge (101 north). In the Novato area, exit on Hwy 37 east to Vallejo / Napa and Sonoma. At the second light on Hwy 37, go left onto Hwy 121 North. Continue on Hwy 121. Turn left onto Hwy 12 and continue to the Sonoma Plaza. Turn left on to West Napa Street (also marked Hwy 12).
Transportation:
Taxi: Not recommended from the airports as the cost is approximately $300 one way.
Limo: California Wine Tours will be happy to set up limo service.
Shuttles:
From The San Francisco International Airport
- Sonoma Airport Shuttle
- Shuttle runs every day at 6:40AM, 9AM, 12:10PM, 2:40PM, 5:00 PM and 10PM (except on Saturday).
From Oakland Airport -
- Sonoma Valley Airport Express
Please note: This is not door-to-door service. The shuttle stop is in the town of Petaluma about 1/2 hour from hotel. The guest would then take a taxi the rest of the way.
