Just beyond the fog belt of Carmel-by-the-Sea on the Monterey Peninsula, Quail Lodge is located on 850 acres of lush fairways, oak meadows and sparkling lakes in beautiful Carmel.
The legendary 97-guestroom luxury resort offers a wide range of facilities and services including a championship 18-hole golf course, executive 9-hole putting course, extensive nature trails, tennis courts golf and tennis pro shop, bocce, fitness center and spa. Services include 24-hour concierge and complimentary shuttle to and from Monterey airport.
Quail Lodge offers 97 luxurious guestrooms including 14 suites, two fairway villas and pool/lakeside lodges. Walls are hand-plastered and interiors feature wrought iron, oxidized steel, stone, hammered copper, boar hide and leather accents throughout.
Guestrooms offer design elements such as skylights, built-in window seats that look out onto the gardens, overstuffed cushions and upholstery, Roman shades, golden-hued hemlock floors. hammered copper sinks and wrought iron sconces as well as the finest amenities.

We chose the Quail Lodge as our family retreat to celebrate my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. We all felt it was the perfect location for both adults and children of all ages. A short weekend is not enough time to take in all that the resort has to offer as well as everything that surrounds the resort. I would highly recommend this resort to families as well as couples looking to escape a hectic lifestyle. It is very serene and relaxing.

Room was not ready by 7pm, special birthday room reception was not met and came late. The door lock was broken and I could not get into the room. We had to be disturbed by maintenance team during that evening. We were overall very disappointed and would not recommend.

I guess this is very Californian, but we found the buildings too far apart, especially in the evening when it was pitch black!! We are used to walking places, not shuttling. Our general feeling was that aside from the golf, the hotel was not luxurious.
