Beautiful setting and incredible sights!
Loved the spaciousness and coziness of our suite. Being able to sit by the fire with a cup of tea and delicious homemade cookies (part of the turn down service) was a nice way to wind down before going to bed.
We also tried the hotel restaurant - Citronelle for drinks and appetizers and although the food was good we could not help but feel that they could have used at least one additional wait staff. There was only one waitress tending to 7 tables - needless to say the service we got was not as personalized or timely as we expected.
We feel it would be important for consumers to be notified in advance (and/or at the time of reservation) of this hotel's "service/gratuity' charge of $25 per night. We were surprised to find out at the time of check-in that this would be added to our tab and although we highly value the importance of recognizing outstanding service we feel that we as the consumers should be deciding when, who and how much to tip

Get Away and Relax

Good sized rooms overlooking the golf course and hills. Wood burning fireplace (wood supplied) large bathroom, jetted tub, big shower, small walk-in closet, table and chairs on the balcony. The in-room massage was great. The lodge was under construction but the staff did the best they could under the circumstances. They were able come up with off the beaten path spots to eat that served excellent food. Not to crowded and yet fun. It was just the kind of trip we were looking for, relaxing,a good bed, good food,a few interesting people and time to just lay in each others' arms and decompress. Candles , flowers, wine, massage and a little chocolate can go a long way to making it a very special time for both of you.

From San Francisco International Airport (SFO):Take Highway 101 South to Monterey Peninsula. Exit onto Highway 156 West. Continue to Highway 1 South. Continue to Carmel Valley Road, and turn left. Follow Carmel Valley Road for 6.5 miles, and turn right onto Robinson Canyon Road. Veer right at the fork in the road. Carmel Valley Ranch will be the second driveway on the left.
From San Jose International Airport (SJC): Take Highway 101 South to Monterey Peninsula. Exit onto Highway 156 West. Continue to Highway 1 South. Continue to Carmel Valley Road, and turn left. Within 72 hours of the guest’s scheduled arrival, all deposits will become non-refundable.
Special Event Cancellation Policy:
Stays booked during the ATT National Pro Am Golf Tournament and the Pebble Beach Concours D’ Elegance require a four-night minimum stay and advance deposit of room and tax for the guest’s full stay. Within 30 days of the guest’s scheduled arrival, the deposit will become non-refundable. Please note that dates for these events may vary from year to year.
