Please Note: Hyatt Regency Scottsdale is undergoing an exciting multi-million dollar renovation of the resort guest rooms beginning March 31, 2008 and ending October 14, 2008. All new custom furnishings will include bed frame and headboard, chair/sofa, ottoman, desk and dresser, along with 37”LCD televisions, and convenient electrical and dataport access. The bathrooms will be artfully redesigned with showers replacing tubs, in most rooms, new tile on walls and floors and custom stone vanities. A True Resort Experience

It was my third stay at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale. Like my two previous experiences at the property, I had a wonderful time. My room was on the third floor with a patio overlooking the main courtyard with the pools, a man-made lake and mountains in the background. The pools are beautiful and one of the best part of the hotel with their water slides, sandy beach, pool side cafe and even a separate adult pool area, all very well maintained. And their Spa Avania with its mineral pool is to die for.
The food is good too and the staff is always ready to help. I definitely felt the resort experience with their musical acts featured nightly and will certainly take my family there one day.

Below Expectations

1) The heating/cooling unit in the room was so loud I barely got 2 hours sleep.
2) To get to the "Dinner" restaurant, one has to pass through the cafe.
3) The hotel had no detailed maps of Scottsdale and could not direct me to the 1400 block of 82nd Street.
Perhaps I expect more because I live in Las Vegas, where even off-strip hotels like Green Valley Ranch have nicer rooms, quality restaurants and a first class Spa. Even so, for $350 per night my stay was a disappointment.

Great Holiday - but Rooms Are a Little Dated and T

Although we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the rooms are a little dated and in need of a refresh. My only other criticism is that the maid service was a little unreliable at times which was a bit of a inconvenience on occasion. Other than this, the staff are extremely polite and helpful and the grounds are immaculate.

Directions:
From Sky Harbor International Airport (approximately 18 miles):
Exit the airport following the signs to the 202 East. Take the 202 East to the 101 North. Continue on 101 North to the Via De Ventura Exit and make a left. Travel West for approximately 2.5 miles (Via De Ventura turns into Doubletree Ranch Road). The Hyatt Regency Scottsdale will be on the right side just before Scottsdale Road.
From Sedona/Flagstaff and Points North:
Follow Interstate 17 South to Route 101 East. Travel on Route 101 East to Exit 43 (Via de Ventura). Turn right on Via de Ventura (this becomes Doubletree Ranch Rd.) After 2.5 miles, the Hyatt Entrance is on the right side of Doubletree Ranch Rd.
From Tucson and Points South:
Follow I-10 West toward Phoenix. Take Exit 161 Pecos Road / AZ-202 Loop E. Stay on 202 E to Exit 50A, AZ-101 Loop North. Follow 101 North to Exit 43, Via de Ventura and turn left onto Via de Ventura, which will become E. Doubletree Ranch Road. Proceed directly to hotel.
From Los Angeles and Points West:
Take I-10 East toward San Bernardino, crossing into Arizona toward Phoenix. Take left Exit 147B to access Route 51 North. Follow 51 North to Exit 9 Shea Blvd and stay right on the fork to turn right onto Shea Blvd. East for approximately 3 miles. Turn right on North Scottsdale Rd. After 1 mile, turn left on left on Doubletree Ranch Rd. The Hyatt Entrance is the first left after the first stop light.
Transportation:
To / From Sky Harbor International Airport
Super Shuttle – offers transportation between the airport and the hotel 24-hours a day. Upon arrival at the airport, look for the island marked Van Service outside of baggage claim. A uniformed Guest Service Representative will assist you with your arrangements to the hotel. No advance reservations are needed from the airport to the hotel; however, 24-hour advance notice is requested for return trips from the hotel to the airport. $20 per person, each way. Groups may reserve an entire shuttle for $80. Vans accommodate a maximum of seven people.
ExecuCar Sedan Service – offers 24-hour private chauffer driven services in sedans that can accommodate up to four people. Advance reservations required. $50, call upon arrival for your car to pick you up; $80 Meet-and-Greet Service -- have a car waiting for you upon arrival.
Taxis - Three taxi companies have contracted with Sky Harbor Airport to provide service at established rates. These rates apply regardless of how many people in your party and how much luggage you are carrying. Choose any taxi you wish from the waiting line. For return to the airport, please speak with the hotel concierge to make arrangements. Approximately $40
As part of the daily resort fee, Hyatt provides a 12-passenger van to take guests to local shopping areas including The Borgata, Scottsdale Fashion Square, and Old Town Scottsdale.
