Westin Gaslamp District - San Diego

Not impressed at all. The room was old and small. The bathtub was very low - not for bathing. The pool is tiny on the third floor. And had no refreshments unless you call from I don't know where. The room had NO water bottles or drinking glasses in the room. You have to call room service or go downstairs for water. But the valet asked if we wanted him to get ice? The brunch was terrible - and very pricey - 4 people for standard buffet brunch $155. Ridiculous. Car valet is $35 a day! No extras, no bathrobes, no water, no flowers, no turn downs, not a luxury hotel. Best Western Hotels have much better service! I felt like I was all alone, camping out. This Westin was a major disappointment to me. I can't imagine booking with them ever again anywhere in the world. Sorry.

Great Location - Disappointing Quality

On the positive side, this hotel is in a great location. Plenty of shopping and walking distance to the gas lamp district. Very friendly staff.
On the negative side, we asked for non-down pillows 3 times before getting awful pillows as replacements. They were such fat pillows we had neck aches by morning.
The TV remote batteries were dead.
The shower head is so massive that as a 6' person, it shoots at your belly.
Oh... and without a drop of water running in our room, did I mention the sink gurgled and filled up with dirty water as we watched in horror, then it receded as oddly as it started. Yuck!
They have incredibly slow elevators as well.
