Overview
Royalton New York Hotel proudly reopens its doors onto midtown Manhattan, rethought, reimagined, and once again, a paragon of intelligent, modern design. Royalton's legendary lobby, long an inspiration for elites of New York fashion and media, is invigorated with handcrafted African touches, graphic fabrics, original murals and the warm glow of a cast-bronze fireplace.
John McDonald, creator of the acclaimed Lever House and Lure Fishbar has furnished Royalton two new meccas for conversation and cuisine: Brasserie 44, an intimate 100 seat restaurant with a modern American menu comprised of seasonal fresh foods and Bar 44, the reincarnation of Royalton's legendary Round Bar, featuring bar and pre-theater menus.
Moving Downtown uptown, the relaunched Royalton brings glamour back to the heart of Manhattan. This timeless hotel offers a thoughtful combination of intelligent modern design and traditional sensibility. The new design pays homage to the undeniably visionary heritage of Royalton. The ambient glow of a massive cast-bronze fireplace embraces you as you enter Royalton's lobby, redesigned by design firm Roman and Williams. The reinvented Brasserie 44 and Bar 44 create an environment that will inspire and awaken the heart of the most hardened of travelers.
The hotels guest rooms have been re-imaged by Charlotte Macaux, retaining Philippe Stark's original bold features while updating the rooms to embrace the needs of the 21st century jet-set, including wired and wireless Internet access. Located in Midtown on 44th between 5th and 6th and convenient to Times Square, the theatre district, and business district, the hotel brings glamour back to Midtown -- an icon reinvented.
