Hotel was nice, paid a premium for what was called a "French Quarter" balcony even though it was listed as "Bourbon Street" balcony in the booking process. Our premium balcony looked at a parking garage instead of Bourbon St. The hotel was nice and had we paid the appropriate rate for the room we received, it would have been a fair value.

Not What We Expected!!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Royal Sonesta and I have to say we are still a bit disappointed. We made reservations through Perfect Escapes and purchased a room with a patio. However when we got to the hotel we did not get that and had to cause a scene in which we did end up getting it. The hotel is in a good location but there are so many other places in the Quarter for half the money we spent at Royal Sonesta and just as nice. I think what we missed the most is the personal care from many of the other hotels and you do not get that at all at this hotel. The blonde girl at the front desk was also very rude which totally turned us away. If I had a lot money to just throw away for nothing I would stay here again but we are going back to the smaller more personable hotels.

We Have Been to N.O. Many Times and Always Stay At

I always stay at the Royal Sonesta, New Orleans. It is right on Bourbon Street! The rooms are beautiful! The staff is wonderful! This hotel and staff seem to always go above and beyond to meet your needs and wants! They are unbelievable. We were there a few years ago and there was a fire around the corner. The electricity was turned off due to the fire ( it was out on the first few blocks of Bourbon on a weekend night.) This could have been a very bad scene, but the hotel staff made sure that only guests were entering the hotel, etc. They helped the guests I saw turn it into a fun/romantic evening. The concierge is always helpful in making any plans around the city or inland. Both the lounge and restaurant have excellent food and drinks. I have stayed in rooms on Bourbon..yes you can hear some street noise but most people stay on Bourbon to enjoy the nightlife. I've stayed in rooms poolside/courtyard too and if you are a light sleeper stay in them, you do not hear anything from the str
