Best Way to See New Orleans

My trip to New Orleans was a combination business and vacation. I had an opportunity to stay at this hotel through the conference I was attending. The price for the hotel through Perfect Escapes was so much less than through the conference, that I was able to upgrade and still save money. Our room was wonderful, with a panoramic view of the curve in the Mississippi River that gives New Orleans its nickname, the crescent city. Our room was so large, it was not a hardship to be in a hotel for eight days. All the staff was very friendly. The food was good, and room service was excellent. We were only a couple of blocks from the trolley that took us to Bourbon St. and also Cafe du Monde. When we wanted a taxi, the door personnel only had to whistle and one was right there. I didn't want to pay for internet, so I took my laptop to the lounge, had a drink and checked my e-mails. Not exactly a hardship! When I wanted to stay in my room and work, I simply chose to pay for the intern -David, from Willow Grove, United States - 5/26/2009

We enjoyed our stay at the Loews...it took a while for our room to be ready. It was probably about 6:30 before it was ready. The room was really nice and the beds were quite comfortable. We would definitely stay again. -Julie Viator, from Lafayette, United States - 5/22/2009
Love It!!

I really love this hotel!! This is my second review, actually. It has all the amenities one would want in a high-end hotel (bar, restaurant, pool, spa, etc.) without being too big and crowded (like the Marriott or the Sheraton). I also love the hotel's style--contemporary but classic. It's sort of a cross between the W and the Ritz.
The bar is fabulous. It's not run by a bartender, but a "bar chef." The drink menu based on a recent book published by The Brennon family (i.e. Commander's Palace)- "The Lank of Cocktails." Be sure to try the "Brake Tag"! LOVE IT!! The restaurant is also operated by the Brennon family.
For some, the location may not ideal- it's 5-10 minute walk to the Quarter. For me, the location forced me to try out some new places rather than the usual Bourbon Street.
The best part, though, is the price. It is often around $50 less compared to similar quality hotels. It is a great value! -Julie Guidry , from Baton Rouge, United States - 5/21/2009

The hotel itself was very nice. The staff were friendly enough and the location was excellent. It was a short walk to the Riverwalk and to the French market. House keeping left a little to be desired though. My wife, a stickler for not leaving the room "a pigsty" halfway straightened the bed, not made, just straightened. Housekeeping did not make the bed and left it just as we had. I think that they simply changed out the towels and emptied the trash. Nothing was cleaned or wiped down at all. Like I stated earlier, great location, great food nearby, and pretty friendly staff. Great bar, thought Lu Brow is the best bartender ever. Made us feel very at home. -Adam Decuir , from YOUNGSVILLE, United States - 4/17/2009

New Year's Week 2009

Very nice hotel close to French Quarter and all downtown attractions. Maid service was only fair. Room was very clean and kept that way, but missing conditioner on arrival and shampoo, etc. not refilled daily. Newspaper not delivered first day and front desk clerks make up a story as to why not. I expected better for the price paid. -Richard, from Vonore, United States - 1/6/2009

Enjoyed our stay but...room was not cleaned even after a reminder. Coffee supplies not replaced daily. Spots on carpet and dirty tables in main sitting room off the lobby. These items took away from a lovely hotel with good service. -Kenneth, from Vonore, United States - 1/5/2009
Great Value

I recently stayed at the Loews New Orleans Hotel, and I was extremely impressed. Most notable was the spacious room and bathroom. We were upgraded to a deluxe room, and it was huge. Hands down, it was the largest room of any New Orleans hotel I've stayed in. (Other hotels I've stayed in are Mariott, Sheraton, Westin [formally Wyndam], and Iberville Suites). The bathroom included a separate bath and shower. The room was also well-maintained and appointed and extremely clean.
I also liked the art deco style of the lobby, sitting area and bar. The pool, whirlpool, sauna, and exercise room were also large and well appointed, and they were included in the price of the room. I also liked the size of this hotel: it was large enough to have such amenities but small enough so that you didn't feel like an ant. The staff were professional but not pretentious.
Overall, I thought this was an outstanding value. -Julie Guidry , from Baton Rouge, United States - 4/11/2008

The New Orleans Loews is well situated to the French Quarter, Casino, and Garden and Warehouse Districts. Service is low key but quite proper. Staff is friendly and helpful. Large rooms contribute to the feeling of comfort and luxury. We were delighted with our weekend stay. -James Cifelli , from Atlanta, United States - 4/11/2008

The hotel is elegant and luxurious. The grand luxury suites are spacious and comfortable and tastefully appointed. Our party stayed in two classes of suites. The Grand luxury suites were great. The luxury (smaller size) are too small for this class of hotel and change the experience.
House keeping service was excellent.
We had our son's wedding at the hotel and the event was beautifully managed by the hotel. The food and the setting were absolutely magnificent. -Daphna Kedem , from north salem, United States - 12/30/2007
