Total Relaxation

Always something going on around the pool, but you can have solitude on your own patio. Food is great in all the restaurants and the spa is excellent (went there twice). Employees are very friendly and upbeat. The beach is beautiful to walk and the view from the balcony is spectacular. Will go again without hesitation. -Karon Sullenger , from Grand Blanc, United States - 12/7/2009
Great Relaxation Spot

I thought the amenities at the resort were fabulous, including golf, tennis, bicycling, kayaking. The pool and beach areas were well maintained and had sufficient space, lounge chairs, etc. The downside was that the room was a bit outdated...but the room was sufficient. -Michele Rest , from Philadelphia, United States - 11/5/2009

Great Birthday Trip for Wife
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
I originally booked a room at the Hilton nearby based on the name brand. Then, it dawned upon me that I should probably read their customer reviews before committing. Well, the Hilton reviews weren't very good while the reviews for Longboat Key Club Resort were quite impressive. I surprised my wife for her birthday and booked a stay at the property for 4 nights. The room and view we had in building #1 on the 4th floor was great. Nice balcony with chairs and table overlooking a stretch of beach that isn't used much for tanning or swimming. We spent two days of our stay laying out on the beautiful beach and couldn't believe how nicely we were treated by the gentlemen setting up chairs and umbrellas. We ate dinner at Portofino one night when we didn't feel like driving much and were amazed by the excellent food and service. Some other restaurants we enjoyed in the area were El Toro Bravo, Mediterraneo, Ceviche, and Dutch Valley for breakfast. Wife liked outlet mall in Ellynton. -Benjamin, from Miami, United States - 8/21/2009
Enjoyed Our Stay
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
We enjoyed our stay at the Longboat Key Club. The staff was professional, efficient and courteous. Our room was remodeled, clean and comfortable. The Lagoon view was peaceful. Manatee, dolphin and fish were all spotted in the Lagoon. The kitchen (complete with blender) was a real treat. We found many seashells and enjoyed the beach. The Gulf of Mexico is beautiful. Overall a very relaxing vacation at a quality resort. -Scott Flood , from Virginia Beach, United States - 8/19/2009

Gorgeous Location
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
For those looking for a fantastic location on the Gulf Side of Florida, this is it. Been to Sanibel and Captiva and neither of them comes close to Longboat. The resort itself is spacious with great golf courses, tennis courses and a great beach. Lots of kids there when we went, so there may be better resort choices if you are looking for an adults getaway. Service was slow, but that may have had to do more with the Memorial Day weekend than anything else. Food was good, but pricey. There are better alternatives like the Dry Dock Restaurant and the Columbia Restaurant off property. If you like to walk, there is nothing better than the walk up the Key. Waves on the shore, many beautiful homes as scenery, really a great exp. -Matthew Defiglio , from Orlando, United States - 6/2/2009
Revisiting a Favorite Getaway Spot

Very happy to find that lots of decorating updates are in place with new suites and refreshing of pool decor. Missing: less luxe bath amenities, in house food just fair, not special. The view and location are relaxing and incomparable. Service and staff natural and available. -Rodrick, from MT PLEASANT, United States - 5/29/2009

Relaxation Combined With Romance!!
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
My boyfriend surprised me with a weekend stay at the Longboat Key club and Resort. It was the most romantic and relaxing hotel I've ever stayed at. The rooms are simply amazing and the bed will make you reconsider leaving the room. Complete comfort in every way. We were constantly catered to and plan on visiting again and again. Even when we had dinner reservation(off property) made for us...we received a complementary desert and visit from the Chef. Our room viewed the beach and allowed us to have an incredible view and sounds of waves all through the day and night! Can't say it enough...simply amazing:) - 4/24/2009

This Resort Has Slipped Drastically in Quality!
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
I used to stay at this resort as an owner at least 1 or 2 times a year. It has become really run down, it is not maintained at a 4 star quality Level now! For what I paid it was only a fair value, not good in this economy. Also the only perk stated I would receive was the late check out, which was no problem for the Longboat Key Club, considering the amount of vacancy. -Jean Hoffmann , from Minneapolis, United States - 4/5/2009
Great Place...Unfair Prices
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
My husband and I spent 8 nights at Longboat Key Club. We had an amazing time! Watch the "hidden fees" - $25/night resort fee and 11% resort tax. So that definitely adds to the cost per night. Rooms were clean, but sometimes house cleaning did not come into clean until 4pm! The beach was so pretty and there were sand dollars everywhere! To save some money, we went to Publix to get food for breakfast and lunch. Restaurants in St. Armand's Circle nice, but pricey! Try Siesta Key's main strip for "bar and grills" that are more affordable. Perfect for couples or families! -Sara Strain , from Maineville, United States - 3/19/2009
Luxurious & Relaxing Vacation

We just had a 3 night stay at Longboat Key Club. We absolutely loved our Club Suite with beach view. It was a very luxurious room and was perfect for our romantic getaway. The resort was quiet and relaxing. It was not a busy time when we were there since it was a midweek stay and still early in the season. We enjoyed excellent service from all the staff we dealt with. Nice pool and great beach with cozy cabanas. Breakfast was fine but somewhat overpriced. Lunch by the pool was nice. Overall, it was a great holiday, and I would recommend the resort to anyone. -Carolyn, from Toronto, Canada - 3/3/2009

Longboat Key Club July

Have been to Hawaii, Cancun, Bahamas and Longboat Key is just as nice, just as tropical, but better places to eat and with the amenities of the good 'ole USA. The property/landscaping was great. Free bike riding was great. The building 6/7 was just a tad bit back from the beach but on the lagoon. Very quiet which we liked. Room and furnishings were excellent. The Tortuga Inn 10 miles North though cannot be beat as far as showers and in room jacuzzi, but this place was comparatively great. Air conditioning vents needed to be cleaned, otherwise nice nice place, will stay again. -Francis Wojtash, from Edwardsville, United States - 7/31/2008
Sticker Shock in Paradise

This resort is beautiful, and the room was excellent. We really enjoyed our 7 day stay at the resort. We were able to relax, workout in their really nice gym, and lay out the beautiful beach. Our only complaint was the hidden fees. Almost $40 extra a night was added on to the bill, which was not expected, not to mention the 4 Dollar 8oz bottle of water that we opened. It was a beautiful place, but the hidden costs really spoiled it for us. There are a lot of "for rent by owner" properties that would have been much more reasonable and provided many of the wonderful things of the Sarasota/ Longboat Key/ Siesta Key area. Though we enjoyed it while we were there, we would not come back to this resort. The next time we return it will be with a better value. -Jason, from Broomfield, United States - 7/7/2008
Longboat Key Club Resort
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
My stay at the Longboat Key Club and resort was less than satisfying. My dissatisfaction started the minute I arrived and I will explain why. First, I arrived to an empty front desk where I stood in front of for over 10 minutes before I was acknowledged. When I arrived at my room which was called their "two bedroom suite" at a rate of $1,050.00 per night, I was sure someone had made a mistake with my room assignment. The ceilings were no greater that six feet tall, the carpeting was stained extensively, the furniture looked as if it had been bought from a garage sale, and the view was obstructed by a large pool area and Tiki bar, the list goes on and on. So I went to the front desk and explained my situation and I was told nothing could be done. There were no decent rooms available because most rooms at this resort are privately owned condos. I was finally fed up and demanded my money back, they refused and I left anyway. This resort is a joke and I would not recommend it to anyone. -jane, from Denver Colorado, United States - 3/16/2008
