Overview
21c Museum Hotel in Louisville, KY is the first of its kind — a 91-room hotel dedicated to Southern-style luxuries and contemporary art from living artists. The hotel features a 9,000 square foot contemporary art museum managed by the 21c Museum Foundation. This stunning collection of cutting-edge art inspired the naming of this property and influenced the creation of the museum and hotel. Our signature restaurant, Proof On Main, is managed by The Myriad Restaurant Group based in New York City.
21c Museum Hotel was developed by Louisville investors and contemporary art collectors, Steve Wilson and Laura Lee Brown. They have provided many years of leadership and financial support for programs and projects that have promoted the cultural and intellectual promise of Louisville's downtown and its citizens.

Best Hotel Experience I've Ever Had!

The 21C Museum Hotel is a special place. Having never been to a hotel with a museum in it, I was excited to know that I could visit the museum part at 2am if I wanted to... and I did. The artwork on display was awe inspiring and different. Paintings, sculptures, interactive installations and various other media was used to create a unique experience.
The rooms: perfect. The only thing my room didn't have, which I didn't end up needing, was a microwave, but the beds, linens, everything in the bathroom and all the rest of the furniture was perfect. My only complaint about the trip was that I couldn't stay longer.
The 21C is in a special place, within walking distance of various attractions, being downtown by the riverfront in Louisville.
And don't forget the Red Penguins! You can move them around and invite them into your room.

Something Different From the Normal Hotel Stay

Our stay at 21C was wonderful. We loved the plasma TV and the nightly turn down service. The valet was very timely and the concierge a big help. Our only complaints were that the exposed brick wall allowed a lot of noise to filter in from the adjacent room. Also, the vent in the shower was very dirty and needed cleaning. The toiletries they provide were great, but would be better if they would include a small bottle of mouthwash. Overall, we were very impressed with our stay.

My husband and I have stayed at many hotels, but the 21C was the best we have ever been to! The combination of art and hotel made this hotel more than your average experience. The staff was wonderful and the concierge was extremely eager to help with anything possible. Our favorite part of the hotel was the art on the wall of the elevator hall! I would definitely stay here again and again!
