I booked nearly 4 months in advance and secured a great rate of $235+tax, nearly four times less than the rate of the same room had I booked one week in advance. At this price, the hotel was great value. I was unable to find time to use the spa, but conversation with other guests leads me to believe it is of real quality. Service in the hotel was generally good. Housekeeping cleaned my room even though I put on the do not disturb and later called me to apologize – that was rather strange. They claimed that people forget to turn off the DND, but then they did it again the next day – very strange. Valet parking was free for guests, a great touch. The location of the hotel is most convenient for those visiting official facilities, etc. and less convenient for shoppers or those wishing to spend time in Georgetown. Overall, it was a good experience and great value.

The service was fabulous - they walked us to the elevator. Room decorations were a bit less than anticipated, but we were upgraded and had a nice view of the river.

Beautiful Relaxing Hotel But...

My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and Valentine's Day. The water view rooms, champagne and breakfast for two were what attracted me to book this hotel immediately. The view was not bad, but not as spectacular as it is portrayed. Unfortunately, I was also disappointed with the small size of the room. It did have a great bath, which, with its glass shower and spa housecoats and slippers were more in line with what we expected from a hotel of this caliber. The staff was nice and eager to please, but they were unaware of the package and I had to bring out my print out with all the details of our package upon check in. They knew nothing about the champagne or early check in, etc. The breakfast for two was great, however, upon checkout we were charged for it. Staff again apologized and quickly made the correction to our bill. We enjoyed ourselves in spite of the communication disconnects.
The location was great as it was 3 blocks from the Smithsonian and metro.
