Cool

All personnel were very friendly and helpful and the room was fantastic. We stayed in the Buddy Epsen room. It was on the 6th floor on the corner with windows so you could look out onto Delmar. It also has a roof top deck with a bar which would be really cool in the warmer months. -Kathy, from maryland heights, United States - 2/25/2010

It was all we had hoped for except for two things. The views aren't very good and neither are the pillows. -Carmen Heard , from Fenton, United States - 2/22/2010

Conveniently located with a good amount of shopping, restaurants and nightlife within walking distance. Small boutique hotel with sophisticated feel. Rooms on the small side but well appointed. Bathroom very small without tub. Great bar on the roof with great views but closed in winter when we dropped in for an overnight getaway. Great concert
venue next door and can't wait to plan a date when we can do the concert hotel combo. Personnel was great. Have stayed at higher end places, but have paid much more, so it certainly is a luxury for the money. Looking forward to returning. The bed was incredible!! -Janet Koth , from Manchester, United States - 2/18/2010
Hip & Friendly, but Uneven Service
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
The Moonrise is a hip boutique hotel in the ever-growing University City/Delmar Loop area of St. Louis. Comfortable suite with separate living room featured Hollywood photos of St. Louis actress Mary Wickes. Bright bathroom featured a rainfall shower and two sinks. The young staff was uber-friendly and bent over backwards to make us feel welcome and at home. Although this hotel opened in April of 2009, the service was somewhat erratic. Our welcome letter was found randomly in the sundries shop. There was no usual book or folder in the room describing the hotel's facilities, nor a price list for the in-room bar. The service at this non-chain hotel often walks a fine line between charming and plain chaotic. Still, it's the only choice in this funky urban location. We'd definitely stay there again. -Kent Lynn , from Washington, United States - 12/1/2009

Hotel was great, so much better than a big chain. Price can't be beat and there was so much to see and do within walking distance. -Patrick, from wilmington , United States - 11/19/2009
Best Beds Ever!!

The beds were luxuriously comfortable!! The cleaning was terrible!! Our bathroom was nice but not cleaned. A bit overpriced for what it is. Loved the rooftop bar. -Julie Whaley , from Maumelle, United States - 11/19/2009
Lovely Hotel

We fell in love with the Moonrise Hotel and the Delmar Loop neighborhood! The property itself is beautiful--cleverly designed and decorated, as well as meticulously maintained. The elevated bed is outstanding--super comfortable mattress, nice linens, and lots of pillows. While we were allowed to check out late per Perfect Escapes policy, we did not receive a check in beverage or a room upgrade. -Andrea, from Danville, United States - 11/12/2009
Greatness in a Box

Great facility, great location, great service. Room was beautiful and clean. The decor was modern and stylish without sacrificing comfort. What really made the stay was the excellent service we received. Would recommend to anyone. The hotel restaurant is also excellent, by the way. -David Reid , from Nelson , Canada - 10/9/2009

The Moonrise was a beautiful hotel- really loved the roof top lounge, great view of the city. Rooms were beautifully decorated, comfortable beds. A little disappointed in the shower. But would go back. -Kevin Long , from monroe city, United States - 9/24/2009

Excellent change of pace in STL. Hip hotel in a up and coming part of the city. Roof top terrace is a great spot and the restaurant was fine. -Michael Walsh, from Chicago, United States - 9/18/2009

This was a beautiful hotel with such a unique theme. I really loved it, very elegant but also comfortable. The staff was amazing and very warm and friendly. Really appreciated the 5 mile radius evening limo service, didn't have to worry about cabs or driving. -William Burke , from Columbia, United States - 8/20/2009

Very Good for Price; Be Sure Location Is Where You
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
This new hotel is very well run and a great deal for the price. The regular rooms are a bit on the small side for St. Louis, but the suites are very nicely furnished and spaced. The restaurant Eclipse has surprisingly good food and great wine selection for fair prices. If you know St. Louis and your visit makes the Delmar loop area convenient for you, you shouldn't hesitate to stay here. If instead you are planning to visit St. Louis for pleasure and want to be downtown and near the sights, then you would be better off staying at a chain downtown. -Brian Arbetter , from Chicago, United States - 6/15/2009
