Overview
One of the finest hotels in Scotland - Hotel du Vin at One Devonshire Gardens is set across an entire terrace of five town houses in the heart of the fashionable west end of Glasgow. The hotel has 49 luxurious bedrooms and suites, which have been enhanced by the Hotel du Vin trademarks of superb beds, luxurious Egyptian linen and monsoon-like showers. The hotel retains all of its original features including stained glass windows, sweeping staircases, oak paneled walls and corniced ceilings. Guests can relax in drawing rooms with open fireplaces or one of the two terraced gardens to the rear. There is a residents only gym, a treatment room and even a heated outdoor cigar shack. The hotel has a stunning collection of private rooms for private dining and events for 2 to100 guests - It is also one of the most exclusive venues in Scotland for Weddings and has a license for civil ceremonies and partnerships.

Stayed at One Devonshire for 1 night before catching a flight to New York. If you have no reason to visit Glasgow then invent one so you can stay at this hotel. I knew it was good, but it far exceeded expectations. Fabulous, lavish merchant palaces built at the height of Glasgow's prosperity and beautifully preserved. Cozy, lavishly furnished rooms and bathrooms and probably no two the same. Open fire places in the living room and a relaxing dram before bed. Excellent value for money all things considered - one of the very best. Also the 9am Continental flight from Glasgow is a very convenient way of hopping over the pond. Much better than staying at some over-priced clip joint in London and fighting your way through the masses at Heathrow.
