Simply Modern

Beautiful looking hotel but the rooms are way too small. There is no in between either a room with or without a view or a suite. The price difference between the 2 is pretty significant. Service was good. Our rate included breakfast which was worth it however they charge you for it and you just need to make sure at check out that you mention it so they can reverse the charges. I let them know at check out and it was taken care of but when I checked my account the next day I was charged for it. I called the hotel to take care of it and they assured me it would be but I am still waiting.
We were supposedly upgraded to a room with a view but we had to move- music was WAY TOO LOUD!!! I can deal with loud but this was beyond. Would I stay again...not too sure. -Laverne Milazzo , from Thousand Oaks, United States - 10/29/2009

This was our second stay at Se and we loved it even more than the last time! Service was great and the spa was one of the most beautiful I've ever been to! Extremely good value when booking through Perfect Escapes! -Stephanie Reid , from Aliso Viejo, United States - 8/29/2009
Great Experience
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
Three friends and I planned a leisure weekend to San Diego. I love San Diego and this new property met our high expectations. We stayed three nights and were granted a late check out easily. We simply did not want to leave. The hotel is located in the vibrant neighborhood of the Gaslamp. Rooms are spacious. Service is impeccable. I do not recall a property being so fast at delivering ice or extra towels. They really nailed the service; especially for a new hotel. I was very impressed. I will go again.

Luxe in the City

Excellent hotel that is more of a true "experience" than just a night in the hotel. From the moment you enter the door, the staff takes care of you. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and luxe. And pool-side music and food is great. -Dan Nance , from los Angeles, United States - 7/29/2009
Can't Fault It
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
I'm a fussy hotel guest, who prefers W hotels and boutique hotels, and I never write these reviews, but this place rocks. Usually I can find something wrong with my hotel or room, but I honestly can't say there was a thing wrong with my stay at the Se. They treated us like rockstars - gave us a champagne cocktail on arrival, and let us check in early and check out very late (4pm) at no extra cost. Thought it was a case of mistaken identity at first, but saw all guests were treated the same. The pool was a real scene, with chilled out DJ and fashion shoots going on. Ok so if I'm scrabbling to criticize, service at the pool bar was bad and the menu lacked simple choices. Didn't use the spa so can't comment on that. Rooms were gorgeous and the bed was like a cloud. Superb! Will never stay anywhere else in San Diego. -Nicholas Oakley , from Los Angeles, United States - 7/24/2009
