Romantic Getaway Oct. 2009

This was a fantastic hotel with everything possible that your heart desires. We were upgraded twice and enjoyed a 1 bedroom suite with an ocean view. The location was the best in Key West; delicious food; wonderful (inviting) staff. The check-in & check-out was speedy; as were any questions that we needed answered.
The grounds were very well kept, and the pool area was phenomenal. The cabanas were luxurious; and we delighted in frozen cocktails by the pool & on Sunset Pier. You do not have to travel, other than down to the front desk area for water activities (boat rides, etc.). Everything is right there! I'd highly recommend this resort as a romantic getaway, anniversary & honeymoon destination; as well as a great escape for families. Very friendly! Key West, Florida is a lot of fun, the streets are filled with lots to do & great restaurants. The Ocean Key Resort is a great escape for anyone! -Cristi Scott , from Clinton, United States - 10/28/2009

Amazing

My husband and I were beyond impressed with the service and hospitality of the Ocean Key Resort. It was our first visit to Key West and they provided suggestions of things to do on the island. Everything you could possible want to do is within walking distance with the exception of the southern most point. Duval street is one block away and has all the restaurants, bars and clubs you could want. We also did the Ultimate Adventure (parasailing, wave runners, snorkeling, kayaking and water toys) and sunset band/drinks and appetizer cruise right out of the hotel's marina from an affiliated company called FURY. We also rented a scooter right outside of the hotel. The rooms were spacious and luxurious as well as the service. They also gave us the promotional breakfast and room upgrade...no questions asked. However, we did have to ask for the promoted late check out for 4pm. The pool was a little small but it didn't seem crowded at all. -Ivelise Rijo , from Brooklyn, United States - 9/13/2009

Price to value this was the best place I found in the Keys on short notice. The Jr. Suite was huge and very nice. The location is great right at the end of Duval. I would stay there again. -Matthew Kott , from Fort Lauderdale, United States - 7/23/2009

I would definitely recommend this hotel when visiting Key West. The hotel was really nice. Very clean. The staff there was very accommodating. I would also recommend going through Perfect Escapes to book the trip. The room rate was really a great deal. You also get a room upgrade. Our room was better than I had expected. We had a view of Duval St. on one side and the ocean on the other. You also were able to check in early and check out late. It also included breakfast for 2 each day you stayed there. Next time we go the Key West, that will be the hotel we stay in and I will definitely book it through Perfect Escapes. -Cheri, from LAKE ZURICH , United States - 7/19/2009
Love This Place.

We've been coming to Ocean Key Resort for a few years now and have always enjoyed the beauty of the hotel, the great location, in-room amenities and fantastic on-site restaurants. Perfect Escapes offered this property at FANTASTIC savings. We love the fact that you have the opportunity to check-in early, check-out late and upgrade the room at no additional charge. Now that it is more affordable and includes breakfast, we can come back even more often, and we have. -Susan Barnett , from Cooper City, United States - 7/15/2009

Perfect location at North end of Duval St. Helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are spacious and there is a fabulous jacuzzi in the bathroom. Booked a Junior Suite at lower floor and got an upgrade to Junior Suite at highest floor with fantastic view to sea and Duval St. - but very quiet.

Our luxurious suite overlooked the water and lots of activity during the day, but at night it was quiet and romantically lighted! We enjoyed a delicious breakfast overlooking the ocean as well as some quirky restaurants a pleasant walk away from the hotel. The pool was delightful with its view of the ocean. -Anthony, from ellicott city, United States - 6/2/2009

Ideally Located

While we only stayed for the one night, we all wished it could have been for much more. Located at the foot of Duval street, it is perfectly situated for exploring Key West on foot. The service was friendly and attentive. Although we were unable to get an early check-out, it presented no problem as the bags were stored at the desk. The restaurant was first-class and the veranda seating over-looking the water was spectacular. Our room 527 had a great view of Mallory Sq. and the evening festivities. The room was older with a few inconveniences (pocket door in shower room was very sticky and elevator was out of service across from the room so made for a long walk but well worth the extra effort). Excellent value considering location, breakfast included (Crab Benedict) and even a Jacuzzi tub in the bedroom. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. -John, from Lakewood Ranch, United States - 5/19/2009

Location, location, location. At the top of Duval Street just close enough to all the action. On the water, facing west with dramatic sunset views. The rooms are of 5* quality and the service was terrific. -John Swetland , from Klamath Falls, United States - 5/14/2009

If you have no desire to rent a car this is the place to stay- convenient to the downtown area and plenty of cabs if you do not feel like walking. As you know, there is very little places to park and none cheap if you find a place. This hotel is very friendly, good service, great food and close to all activities, Mallory square, fishing charters, sunset cruises, snorkeling trips and of course, shopping. -Robert Letcher , from Savannah, United States - 5/12/2009

I stayed at the Ocean Key Resort for three nights on my most recent visit to Key West. The package I booked included breakfast for two each day and a room upgrade. When we arrived the room was ready early and an upgrade was available. We were given a HUGE two bedroom two bath suite. The view was fantastic and the location can't be topped. We enjoyed the hotel enough that we extended our stay to include the third night. We had to switch rooms but the transfer process was simple and the hotel staff handled everything for us. All-in-all I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will stay there again on my next trip to Key West. -Charles, from Columbus, United States - 2/26/2009

Enjoyed Our Time At Ocean Key Resort
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
We just got back from our X-Mas vacation at the Ocean Key Resort & Spa. We usually go home to NY for the Holidays but this year my wife and I decided to have some fun instead. If you are looking for a nice hotel with above average service and great rooms in a party town full of drunks and cruise ship tourists this place will suit you fine. We booked through Perfect Escapes and got a free room upgrade and three free breakfasts at the hotel restaurant.
The room itself was pretty. It was nicely decorated and appointed with a mix of traditional Key West styling and modern amenities. It had a great view; two flat screen TV’s and a great bathroom with a jetted tub and marble everywhere. We had a balcony that looked out over the Gulf and Mallory square where the sunset fair goes on every night.
The pool area of the hotel was also well appointed and decorated. There is a nice view of the gulf from the pool deck and the minimalist key lime accented furniture and towels add to the hotel luxu -Christopher, from Nyack , United States - 12/30/2008

The weather did not cooperate with us, so that might have colored our impressions. We liked Ocean Key, it's right on the harbor, has a nice pool, excellent complementary breakfast. We had a few hiccups, but service was very responsive. -David, from Arlington, United States - 12/5/2008

The hotel was in a perfect location and the staff was wonderful. The room was beautiful but with flaws. The sofa was badly stained and in room tiles were chipped. Also the elevator near our room was not working. The balcony over looking Mallory Square and the ocean was beautiful. The pool, although small was excellent with a view of the ocean. -James Micciulla , from Staten Island, United States - 11/24/2008

The service was as fantastic as the setting. Our concierge recalled our names and our rental car days after he checked us in and was very personable each time we saw him in the halls throughout our stay. Definitely the best location in Key West - in the heart of it all while still being a quiet place to retreat at the end of the day. We took full advantage of having great restaurants and a great pool overlooking the ocean but were still close enough to walk to all the shops, museums and great local food. This was our second Key West trip and we'll be staying at the Ocean Key from now on. Beautiful property. -Chad, from Colorado Springs, United States - 11/3/2008

We had a great experience except the last day we wanted to get a late check out of 4 pm (part of package based on availability) but they were giving us a hard time about leaving at that time. We got a free room upgrade from a junior suite to a spa suite. Overall good experience. -Matt Wetzel , from Jacksonville, United States - 10/7/2008
