Overview
The stylish and historic Hotel Montgomery, approaching 100 years young, was downtown San Jose's only first class hotel when it opened in 1911. Very Nice, Very Accommodating, Great Location

Had a suite which was a nice size room with area to sit on a couch or chairs around the bed. Great hotel to stay at to walk to Tech Museum. Very clean, very friendly and helpful staff. No complaints.

Not So Perfect Escape

We had a terrible stay at the Hotel Montgomery. The front desk asked us to switch rooms after we had settled down for the evening. Very inconsiderate, and quite frankly shot the mood for the evening. It's too bad because we have stayed at the Montgomery many times before and loved it. I think next time we will look elsewhere.

Hotel Montgomery was in a great location and staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. I would happily stay there again. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Would definitely stay there again.

Great Perks, Reasonable Price

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the rate I paid afforded us some luxuries that we hadn't expected. During check in, we learned that a continental breakfast was included with our "package." Sweet! Once in our room we got a call from the front desk to ensure we were happy with our room. Double sweet. The kicker was when they asked us what time we wanted our champagne delivered! That was completely unexpected, and a wonderfully refreshing surprise--even though the champagne was American! Add that to the incredibly friendly and attentive staff and the tasteful, modern furnishings in the heart of downtown San Jose (for $116/night) and you have one great hotel that I'll definitely choose the next time I visit San Jose.
