Gild Hall, part of the Thompson group of hotels, is the newest small luxury hotel in Downtown Manhattan. It is located in the heart of the Financial District, the fastest growing neighborhood in Manhattan. Nestled on Gold Street at the corner of Platt and William streets, Gild Hall is in walking distance to Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange, The World Trade Center Site, South Street Seaport, the Statue of Liberty and Battery Park. For shopping enthusiasts downtown boasts Hermes, Tiffany, Thomas Pink and Century 21, the designer department store.
Designed with European sensibility and American contemporary style in mind, our rooms are warm and sophisticated with rich colors of chocolate and red. Private bi-level library and champagne bars will complete the modern luxury which features amenities such as: custom-made 400-thread-count Sferra linens, down beddings, flat-screen TV, iPod docking station and alarm clock. Absolutely Phenomenal

An absolutely fabulous hotel. The meticulous attention to detail is reflected in every part of the hotel, from the uniqueness of the lobby, to the decoration of the rooms, to the Fatwitch brownies that housekeeping leaves on your pillow. This is the kind of place that you congratulate yourself on finding.

The room was nice enough, though dark. It seemed that there was more of a focus on appearance than comfort. The amenities were basic and I was surprised by the limited nature of things - audio/visual and the continental breakfast, for instance. The staff were responsive and kind. It was not a kid-friendly place to stay.

From La Guardia Airport:
Take the Grand Central Parkway West to the BQE which will bring you to the Long Island Expressway/ LIE. Take the LIE west to Midtown Tunnel.
