Overview
Gild Hall, part of the Thompson group, is a small luxury hotel located in the heart of the Financial District, the fastest-growing neighborhood in Manhattan. Nestled on Gold Street between Platt and William streets, Gild Hall sits within walking distance of Wall Street, the Statue of Liberty, and other Downtown attractions, as well as shopping at Hermes, Tiffany, Thomas Pink and Century 21.
Mindful of European sensibility and American contemporary style, Gild Hall rooms feature warm and sophisticated design with rich colors of chocolate and red. Modern luxury amenities include custom-made 400-thread-count Sferra linens, down bedding, flat-screen TV, iPod docking station alarm clock, Dean and DeLuca gourmet minibar items, bathroom amenities by Kiehl's, and oversized terry robes by Frette. Classic meets contemporary at The Libertine restaurant and bar, where two floors of luxury and comfort evoke a cozy London clubhouse, offering traditional favorites with sly twists, creative small plates, and a full raw bar.

Great NYC Experience in a Not too Far Off Hotel
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
I had been to NYC before but stayed with friends so I knew what to expect size-wise in terms of the room. When I arrived the lobby of the hotel had a very rustic feel to it. Leather couches, cow print carpets, deer horns on the walls and two elevators that are pretty small compared to LA. The one downside to the hotel was that during my stay here one of the elevators was out for service during the entire stay. Ordered room service on one of the nights during my stay here and it was very good. It's a ways away from Times Square and you must take the Metro to get around but it's well worth it in the financial district. It's very quiet at night and no need to worry about road noise. Also the staff was extremely friendly! -Kathy, from El Monte, United States - 5/19/2009

Got a room rate of $150 for a King studio, upgraded to a suite for $200. Hotel has a great look and the room was attractive and clean. -Joshua, from Jersey City, United States - 4/9/2009

The translucent glass wall that separates the sleeping area from the bathroom does little to drown out any noise. Otherwise, nice hotel and a GREAT staff who is VERY helpful!! -new-york visitor, from ny, United States - 3/10/2009

The character of the hotel is very notable. Mellow and relaxing, I found that every corner I turned was full of something interesting to look at and think about. I would definitely stay here again. -Katharine Hume , from Dallas, United States - 2/23/2009

We loved the property but the restaurant and bar were under construction. I think once completed, this is a must see hotel. Great rooms, great staff and good location. -Martin Mcknight, from Charles Town , United States - 9/2/2008
Absolutely Phenomenal

An absolutely fabulous hotel. The meticulous attention to detail is reflected in every part of the hotel, from the uniqueness of the lobby, to the decoration of the rooms, to the Fatwitch brownies that housekeeping leaves on your pillow. This is the kind of place that you congratulate yourself on finding. -Emre Mangir , from Santa Monica, United States - 8/27/2008
Just Okay

The room was nice enough, though dark. It seemed that there was more of a focus on appearance than comfort. The amenities were basic and I was surprised by the limited nature of things - audio/visual and the continental breakfast, for instance. The staff were responsive and kind. It was not a kid-friendly place to stay. -Devra, from Glenside, United States - 7/24/2008
