Overview
The stunning Sofitel London St James is located in the former home of Cox and Kings bank in the very heart of London, England. This sympathetically renovated building is English heritage grade II listed and now houses one of London's most stunning five-star hotels -- combining traditional British design with a contemporary style that is unmistakably French. The award winning Brasserie Roux restaurant offers first class French brasserie cuisine and these high standards are reflected throughout the hotel.
Sofitel London St James has one of the finest addresses in London, right on the corner of Pall Mall and Waterloo Place. The hotel lies in the heart of St. James's, a prestigious and lively district of London, within walking distance of St. James's Park, Buckingham Palace and the renowned gentlemen's clubs. The hotel is also less than a five minute stroll from Trafalgar Square, city centre theatres and the fabulous shopping on Regent, Piccadilly, Oxford and Bond streets. The hotel has the ideal location from which to discover and enjoy central London.

Excellent Hotel; centrally located, elegant old building yet very nice and spacious rooms. -John Struck , from Key Biscayne, United States - 9/22/2009
Best Hotel Sleep Ever!!
 | | Overall rating: | | Value rating : | |
We stayed at the Sofitel St. James for 4 nights. The bed was the most comfortable sleep we ever had in a hotel. The room service was perfect, other than cold toast. Wake up calls were reliable (they called to make sure you received call)! Concierge was very helpful and knowledgeable. Check in and out was quick and friendly. I am usually very critical when it comes to hotels but the Sofitel leaves next to nothing to criticize. The location was perfect for our family that included our 11 yr old. We walked to Buckingham Palace and out to supper, then to the mall and played in the arcade. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and would recommend this hotel to family and friends. Can't wait to come back! -Jim Elliot , from Saskatoon, Canada - 7/27/2009
Truly a Great Escape

Sofitel St. James was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary.
The hotel has an excellent location and excellent service. It is only a few minutes walk from theaters, restaurants and main attractions. So close to Piccadilly, but still remains hidden and quiet. Hotel and rooms are lovely- we loved the décor and enjoyed the amenities. Staff was courteous and helpful. Coming back from a morning jog around St. James Park (a true delight) the doorman rushed to hand us bottles of mineral water. The concierge service was helpful. We had afternoon tea at the Rose lounge and enjoyed it very much.
Also, booking through Perfect Escapes we were upgraded from junior suite to a big luxurious suite (a great surprise) and we enjoyed a late checkout.
So thank you Perfect Escapes and thank you Sofitel St James.

Excellent Stay

We stayed at the Sofitel Hotel St James in London whilst attending the Bruce Springsteen concert at the Emirates Stadium and caught a tube from the nearby tube station (5 mins walk). I have trouble walking but after talking to the very helpful concierge decided that we would walk from the tube at Arsenal instead of getting a taxi. This turned out to be the best decision. Everything about the hotel was excellent, make sure that you sign up to the Privilege card before you go. We had 2 glasses of champagne on arrival and checkout was 16:00hrs on Sunday...Just a word of caution..you always get charged tax on top of the bill. Would love to stay there again, even though all the staff are French! -Viv Riding , from Droitwich Spa, England - 6/5/2008
