Overview
Perfectly situated in the centre of Munich, The Charles Hotel, the latest five-star hotel from The Rocco Forte Collection, opened in October 2007 and promises to be one of the finest hotels in this historic and cosmopolitan Bavarian city. The design was overseen by Olga Polizzi, The Rocco Forte Collection's Director of Design. The hotel has its own personality and reflects its location with the use of original paintings by Munich's celebrated 19th century artist Franz von Lenbach in the public areas as well as the Monforte Suite. Directions from the East:
From the East take highway a8 Salzburg. Get off the a8 and keep straight on the Innsbrucker Ring. Follow the road for 2.3 km and go into Leuchtenberg Ring for 1 km. Leave Leuchtenberg Ring and turn left into Prinzregentenstrasse. Follow the road for 2 km. Keep straight on the Von-der-tann-strasse for 500 meters. Leave Von-der-tann-strasse and keep straight on the Oskar-von-miller Ring. Follow the road for 600 meters and leave Oskar-von-miller-ring and keep straight on the Maximiliansplatz. On the Maximiliansplatz turn right into Brienner Strasse. Follow the road over the Karolinenplatz about 900 metrer. Turn left into Meiserstrasse and after 300 Meters turn right into Sophienstrasse. The Charles Hotel is located on the right hand side.

City center is within walkable distance from property.
Transportation from primary airport to property
Taxi -Taxis are available from the airport to the city centre. The distance is 35 km which takes about 40 minutes depending on the traffic. The price is about euro 65,00.
Limo - Limousine can be arranged through the hotel concierge. The charge will be approximately 120 to 150 euros per way in a S class Mercedes.
Rental Car- Rental cars are available at the airport.
Rail or Subway- The S-Bahn line 1 or 8 goes directly to Munich city centre, Central Station. From the Central Station exit, turn left and walk approximately 300 meters to the hotel.
Bus or Other Transportation- The Lufthansa shuttle bus leaves from both terminals at Munich Airport every 20 to 30 minutes. The charge is approximately 10 euros per person, one way. The bus goes directly to the central station.
